Vehicle Detail
You are viewing my Triumph Stag. This car is truly for the Triumph collector enthusiast. It has very desirable options that include the 4 speed overdrive manual transmission and air conditioning. Standard options are power steering, windows and brakes. It has never been performance modified or gone through a slip-shot restoration to bring it back to life from a neglected ownership. I am only the third owner of the car. I purchased the car 4 years ago from the long term second owner. This Stag is in excellent all stock un-restored original condition. There is no rust-thru on any the body panels, floor pans, trunk or rocker panels. Any surface rust spots are contained to very few locations where paint has chipped, at panel seams or areas exposed to road elements. The paint color is the original Carmine Red. It was re-sprayed in the early 90’s with a decent quality lacquer finish. The paint holds a nice shine but it far from perfect. There are many scrapes and scratches on various panels. It has several normal parking lot dings and a small indentation on the rear bumper. There are no major dents, the worst being a small crease on the lower front left fender. The interior is in very good condition. There are no tears in the leather upholstery, no cracks on the dash pads or door panels. Both front seats were re-conditioned with new foam sets. New quality carpet set was installed. The canvas convertible top is dry rotted, but the frame mechanism is in good. The hard top is in excellent condition. This does not suffer from the usual electrical gremlins. All gauges, horn, lights, radio and power windows are in excellent working condition. This is a rare feature, the AC works, has the original Freon and blows ice cold. Mechanical Condition: When I purchased the car, I refurbished some of the core mechanicals that included, rebuilt PS steering rack, wheel alignment, new brakes, calipers, master cylinder, clutch slave and master cylinder, re-cored radiator, hoses, belts, wires, elec ignition conversion, flushed gas tank and rebuilt carburetors. The car has a set of 4 brand new performance tires on restored aluminum rims. The original V8 engine starts right up with no smoke, it idles smoothly with no unusual noises. Oil pressure holds steady and high when fully warmed up. The car runs and drives very well. The 4 speed transmission engages smoothly and quietly in all gears. The overdrive engages as it should in 3rd and 4th gears. Suspension and steering are very solid with no rattles or wheel shimmy. There are now 62,100 miles on the odometer. Other than older service records, I have limited documentation to support this, but gauging from the firm/solid ride, I believe this to be accurate. I have tried to include as many pictures to depict the true condition of the car. Please e-mail if you have specific questions. Please keep in mind that the car is 38 years old and although excellent condition for its age, due to normal wear and tear, have realistic expectations for a vehicle that been in service all these years. This car is being offered in a no reserve auction with a very modest starting price. Please email and I will promptly assist you with any questions you may have. Please read the good and bad in the description above. I will make myself available for anyone requesting a physical inspection Terms The winning bidder must confirm bid with a $300 non-refundable deposit within 3 days of close of auction. The balance is due within 10 days. This car is sold as-is where-is. Local buyers are always encouraged to inspect in person before bidding. If you would like to have the vehicle shipped, let me know and I can make arrangements with your vehicle shipping provider after the listing closes. Buyer pays actual shipping costs.
