ronrossmotors Store 1999 PORSCHE BOXSTER - 5 SPEED - CA. CAR- NO RESERVE. The Boxster was a clean-sheet design that was built around an all-new horizontally opposed (boxer type) engine. The engine is mounted mid-ship for ideal weight distribution and displaces a relatively thrifty 2.5 liters. This is Porsches first use of water-cooling and four-valve technology on a six-cylinder engine. The engine produces 201 horsepower and 181 foot-pounds of torque, which is plenty of grunt for an open-air roadster. Nice exterior paint with a redone interior showing a little wear on the carpets and floor mats. Convertible top works well with the canvas being in excellent condition, but the rear plastic window was vandalized with some rips, so it has a little sealer and tape on it but is totally clear and water proof. There are a few known glitches with the car being that the front lower bumper has a small section missing but is unnoticable. The car smokes a tad on start up when cold.
