Vehicle Detail
This is a nice and restorable, or drive as is, 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa convertible. This model was the top-of-the-line for Corvair this year and is a nice peppy convertible as well. It was originally bought from the Vair shop in Frankfort, IL in the 90's. The engine has been rebuilt within the past 10 years and runs well, the interior has new carpeting and all seats are original and in great shape. The top needs a new rear window and the car does need some attention overall; the body has lots of nicks and dings and although it was restored in the early 90's, it needs it again. I just don't have the time and money to do it now. The car runs well and the manual transmission shifts well, all gauges seem to work fine except for the gas tank which I cannot make register (even added a newer sending unit). The car has new tires, newer brakes, new master cylinder, new gas tank and hoses, new spark plug wires and plugs, new rebuilt distributor, new fuel pump, new filters, rebuilt primary carbs and linkages, new carpeting and padding and has been mechancally gone through recently. The car needs body work, radio needs some work, a rear window and a good thorough cleaning. The last owner didn't drive it much and so it got some little inhabitants, so I cleaned as much as I could but it still could use a good underbody degreasing and a summer cleaning. All windows work, doors latch well and the top does raise and lower easily and is without tears. The car has been in midwest all of its life and has the normal corrosion underneath. It does have new sheet metal already welded into the floorpans and is sturdy. Overall this is a nice restorable or good driver car and is a nice example of the luxury model 140 horsepower Corsa for 1965. Comes with a full-size new spare tire and Chevy spinner wire-wheels. Needs ashtrays in rear. If you have any questions, please email and I am glad to answer as much as I can. I am not a Corvair guy but I can try, winner to pay a down payment of $200 within 48 hours of auction close and balance due upon pick-up. I can help load car for any shipping. Cash in person for pick-up or I will accept Paypal (winner to pay 3% conveience fee) or Postal Money Orders for payment. All payment needs to clear before car can be taken. Thanks for looking!
