Vehicle Detail
I got this 1966 TR4A (with several other cars) in 2007 from a friend of my uncle in Louisiana. I had every intention of rebuilding this little beauty, but never found the time, and now space and financial issues force me to sell. Car has always been garaged. This is a super solid southern car. This is a solid rear axle car, not IRS. The solid axle cars are much rarer. There is very little rust, and what is there is on the surface only. The only truly rusted part I can find is on the upper lip of the bonnet, where the P.O. had taken the bonnet off and leaned it in a wet spot against a garage wall (picture included). The frame, trunk (boot), floorboards, door sills, and body are all in very good shape (see pictures). Unfortunately, the motor is locked. I did not realize this, until after I had the carbs rebuilt, screw on oil filter installed, high torque starter installed, and new clutch and brake master cylinders installed. The transmission shifts fine, and the car rolls excellently. I have many new parts, and they all go with the car. The headlights and mirrors are off the car, but in the trunk. I have not unfolded the roof, but it appears to be in decent shape. Also have the trunk covers, tonneau cover, and a full spare set of steel wheels if you want them. I have a clear title. I am in Olive Branch, MS just a mile from Memphis. I will help with shipping/loading the car anyway that I can. I can hold the car as long as you need to pick it up, on a weekend would be best for me. Let me know. A $500 deposit check should be sent within 7 days of auction close (please not PayPal). The remainder to be paid in cash upon pickup. The only other thing about the car, was that the P.O. said that the car had been hit at one time and that parts were taken off another TR4 to replace the damaged panels, I could not confirm this, but wanted to mention it just for the sake of honesty. I will try to check back daily and answer any questions quickly. The reserve has been set far below what I believe the car is worth. On May-04-11 at 09:30:50 PDT, seller added the following information: *Update* - I have added photos of the chassis, driver and passenger sills, and driver and passenger wings. I also found in my parts, new rear brake wheel cylinders and a new fuel pump including the glass bowl assembly. These go with the car. Also, if you plan to pick up the car within 7 days, you can forgo sending a separate deposit.
