Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here is my own personal 1990 928S4. I Always dreamed of owning a 928 and I really took my time and found a GOOD car. This car has been owned by enthusiasts it’s entire life. It ha sbeen driven regularly- amazing a total of 96,000 miles to date. It has been maintained religiously throughout it’s life and it really shows. The original paint is still in very good shape. I had the front and rear bumper covers resprayed, and other than a few minor filled-in rock chips on the aluminum hood and a couple of minor filled-in marks on the right rear quarter panel- the car looks GREAT. The photos don’t lie- people regularly comment on how clean and nice the car looks- I get far more comments on this car then on my Ferrari 355… go figure. When I bought the car it had the OEM wheels on it running a good set of bridgestone Potenzas- I have included a picture of the car on the OEM wheels so yo ucan see how good they look- They will be included in the purchase as well- I upgraded the car to the beautiful 18” mags yo use here and installed a set of incredible Sumitomo HTRZIII running 225/40/ZR18 front and 265/35/ZR18 rear. The difference was shocking- the car no longer pushed into corners and feels fat and wide- it CARVES up corners, sticks like glue and the steering is now lighter and has more fingertip feel. The wheels are tires are NEW with about 600 miles on them! I removed the OEM Blaupunkt Radio and replaced the dried out blown stock speakers with just about the LAST set of Diamond speakers that will fit these cars. (You need a shallow mount and these have been discontinued) 4” components in front and 6 ½ components in the rear. I then installed a really tight and accurate Infinity powered sub which neatly fits in the spare tire wheel well, with an elegant little subwoofer control box mounted just under the driver’s side dash. I have the original unused inflatable spare and OEM Porsche inflator kit which will be included with the vehicle. The head unit was upgraded to a great sounding Soundstream unit with built in Bluetooth, SD card slot, DVD player and BUILT IN NAV-Works great and looks incredible. The sound on this car is fantastic- and it is my favorite car to just grab the keys- put on some great music and go for a blast! I spent many hours fixing all of the “928 stuff”- I found one of the last OEM hatch receivers and installed that, carefully aligned the hatch and cleaned and lubed the seals- this with new hatch switches means the hatch opens via the floor mounted switches and the car is TIGHT as hell and RATTLE FREE- really feels like a new car. All the gauges work, even the sunroof works great. Lights were replaced with Hi intensity HID lighting- bright white light- fantastic! I will include a treasure chest of documents with this vehicle, including over $13,000 worth of service receipts including the belt replacement 10,000 miles ago and the belt tension and COMPLETE service just 1,000 miles ago. (To the tune of $2500!)The car runs particularly well and the Mercedes 4 Speed transmission shift flawlessly and operates like a surgical tool- I have the original window sticker for the car showing an MSRP of $76,050- and delivery of the car to Tallahassee Florida. All original books are there- even the radio docs and code. The car runs as well as any 928 I have even driven- fires right up thanks to a complete Fuel injection service with new Idle Stabilizer valve. The car neither burns nor leaks any oil- it runs cool and calm even in Summer heat, and provides excellent heat during those chilly mornings. To my knowledge the car has never seen snow- All gauges work- Even the CRUISE works perfectly! The car has a dealer-installed K40 radar detector that the previous owner disconnected- I have left it here for you to hook up- to my knowledge it sill works fine. I bought it from a retired engineer in new Hampshire who had a huge garage and kept the car on a Battery Tender for the cold months- I have stored the car in my heated garage on a battery tender. The car is about as good a 928S4 as there is available, but since it is a 21 year old car please note the following faults with the vehicle 1) Paint is really good- but it is original so there are some rock chips (filled) up front and a scratch and rock dent on the right rear quarter (Filled0 2) A/C is OEM R12 and system is filled- the A/C Compressor clutch is not working right now but the system DID work perfectly when I stored it in October- so I would suggest having an A/C tech simply rebuilt the existing compressor and clutch. The rest of the system has been maintained and works fine. 3) Leather on the car is in remarkably good shape and all original- but do note there is some wear on the driver’s seat which should be visible in the photos. 4) I never did get around to spraying a new finish on the intake manifold- so the factory finish shows some peeling- Your choice whether to leave it or have it powder coated- 928 guys have done some very nice finishes on this part!
