Vehicle Detail

Year 1965 Make Alfa Romeo Model Giulia Ti (Tourismo International) Type 4-door FIA GT Sports Sedan Series 105.08 (Cambio Cloche) Chassis No 10508 AR*457822* Transmission 5-speed (Floor shift) Mileage 58,401 kilometers Registration SOU 708 (California Black Plates) If you are looking for a seriously fun, practical and easy to use road/race car, this just might be the one for you.  This would be an ideal racer/tourer for someone who also needs to haul the family around during the week and is interested in organized track events on the weekend. This particular vehicle is one of only 8,010 production examples completed in model year 1965.  It was sequentially this is the 7,225th example completed or 785th before production ended that year. The following records were obtained from the Alfa Romeo Factory Archivist:  “ARN *457822* originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulia T.I. (Tipo 105.08), manufactured on the 21st April 1965 and sold on the 26th April 1965 to Alfa Romeo Inc., Newark, U.S.A.  The body colour is (was) “acqua di fonte”(light blue) with leather skai interiors. (Now black vinyl.)  The car was then sold new by the San Francisco authorized Alfa Romeo agent on May 2nd, 1965 and registered for normal road use on California (black plates) “SOU 708” (Which it still wears to this day, 46 years later!) This was and remains a very well known example, especially by San Francisdco Bay Area Alfa enthusiasts.  The original owner sold the car to Alfa “Guru” Conrad Stevenson in late 1965, from him it went to his then Girlfriend, Tasha and eventually as a daily driver for Tasha’s mother who lived in Berkley.  After many years of faithful service, the car was given by her in exchange for house painting services to another local Bay Area Alfa enthusiast and then onto Ben Dela Cruz in the Fall of 2006.  Cruz and the next two Bay Area owners, Jose Bautista and Alvin Tan spent consider time and effort completely restoring the car for dual purpose road and race use. I had been searching for a clean 1965 and older Ti for tours and racing here in the States as well as Europe and eventually lucked onto this car in April of 2009 and shortly thereafter struck a deal and purchased the car from then owner,  Alvin Tan. I had the car then delivered to Symbolic Motors Service, Race and Restoration facility in San Diego, California where it was carefully gone over and prepared for European FIA sanctioned races and rallies without consideration for time or expense. The car was at this time given a variety of updates and converted cosmetically to “Ti Super” Specifications.  I re-registered and had the car issued a new title and FIA HTP documents in my name showing the car to be a 1963 model giving it eligibility in far more events world-wide. Since this work was completed, I have raced the car twice in HMSA sanctioned events as well as used it regularly on the road with my family in local tours and events. The car is fitted with a well tuned and updated 1750cc engine and twin Weber side-draft carburetors making 125bhp at the rear-wheels.  The front seats have new FIA lap belts and the rear is set up with three normal “street” belts for family use that allows easy travel with five adults and a ton of luggage!  (Bring your own fan club to the track!)  The car has a full FIA legal three point fire system with both internal and remote releases.  The rims are stunningly beautiful replica Alfa TZ-2 items and are fitted with brand new road/race tires that were purchased at a cost well over $4000! I have massive amounts of carefully organized records, receipts and original documents going back more than 40+ years on this car.  I also have receipts and records for more than $45,000 in expenses on this car since my purchase.  The paint shows well and is to “race” standards but by no means concours perfect.  There are no signs of rust or accidents anywhere and interior is perfect.  I have set the reserve at less than 1/2 of my total expenses... a classic case of my loss, your gain! The car could easily be driven every day or tracked, raced and rallied immediately. The close up photo of the nose shows the original "Ti Super" badges that were recently added.  These were incredibly expensive and they are fitted both on the front and rear.  I have also updated the dash with the "Ti Super" three gauge set-up rather than the stock "ribbon" type gauge cluster.  The original set up and a variety of other spares go with the car as do a perfect set of re-chromed front and rear bumpers. All interested buyers are welcome to have the car independently inspected and test-driven without restriction of any kind.  I can also further assist with world-wide, door-to-door export, shipping and importation in the safest and most economical manner as needed. Please email or call me directly at anytime if I can assist anyone with test-drives, inspections or further with the purchase of this very special Alfa sedan.  Many thanks,  Bill Noon wdnoon@me.com  (619) 840-7811
