3rd relist notes-reserve lowered again! This auction is for a very nice example of what was the fastest-100 mph+, 250cc street bike of its year model! 2-cycle,oil injected, 6-speed,light-319#, & fast & fun to ride! See www.suzuki.org for more data. I disassembled the bike & repainted all surfaces to OEM specs.. The tank & side covers are painted using base coat/clear coat paint in accurate Candy red color of the original. I can tell you I spent hours masking the tank stripes as original! The stripes on the tank are white and a smaller orange one.The sidecovers have new original decals on them for the CCI direct oil injection system. All the emblems have been restored to original condition.Spark plugs & points, gas lines, filters & several of the cables + more, are new.All rubber parts are new, including air filter to carb boot and carb tops. The turn signals are either new or like new. The tank was in excellent condition but relined with Por-15 based on bikes age. The front forks were redone, head bearings cleaned & greased, exhaust cleaned, instruments are clear & nice! The original headlights are very expensive and hard to come by. I replaced the original bulb in the headlight unit with a modern halogen bulb of the correct wattage (for the weak electrical system), thus keeping the original look , but with improved performance. (Who would ride a vintage bike at night anyway?) The tires, tubes and rim strips were replaced with a +1 size in a high quality Asian tire. Tires are balanced with Dyna Beads inside the tubes. Fluids are all fresh and correct. The seat is in superb original condition except for minor scratches that barely show in the photos.I placed a new layer of thin foam under the OEM seat cover as original.Original grips as new. Fasteners are new or nice. The bike is not missing any parts from original, to include the grab rail which is often gone.It could use a new turn signal flasher unit. The chrome is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age but has the typical minor pitting (hard to see!!!) as most Japanese vintage bikes. The chrome shows nicely as bright & shiny. The wheels are exceptional but the rear has a few minor dings.Spokes have original plating! Battery is new. The bike has been on test rides but not really ridden since restoration. I am a retired professional mechanic. FWIW,I will NOT be making a profit on this bike. Bikes history available to the buyer/bidders. I'll help load the bike onto your's or your carriers truck but the arrangements are up to you as is all the freight expense. Please determine that you can pay for the bike and the cost to pick it up or ship it before you bid. I expect a downpayment of $250 within 24 hours of the auction end via PayPal. I expect full payment upon pickup or shipping via suitable and agreed upon payment means. Please, no full payment via Paypal due to fees. If you win the bid for this bike thats not an approval sale, its a final sale! As is/ where is sale. I have a clear Kentucky title for this bike .I will store the bike on the deposit for an agreed upon amount of time. This must be discussed prior to your final bid. This is an auction and I will not stop the auction for your interest alone. I reserve the right to cancel the bids of those who lack significant feedback,etc.. You can contact me for approval prior to bidding if you are a newer bidder. I have zero interest in payment plans or other peculiar arrangements. Please don't bid at all if you are not going to follow through!!! The bike is located 2hrs east of Louisville,KY; 1 hr east of Lexington,KY;2hrs south of Cincinnati,OH;2hrs west of Charleston,WV in eastern,KY. Call 606-768-3110 prior to 10pm,EDT if you have questions & a serious interest. Ask questions prior to your bid! This is the most desirable of the Suzuki bikes in this series as the next year they got longer & heavier and not as neat a package as this T-250 J Hustler. Thanks & Good luck! On Apr-27-11 at 15:29:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question in response to my answer about the crank case seals. What I intended to say was , that, given the fact that there is no indication of crankcase pressure leakage, I simply did not tear the motor down on what is a great running bike. I did remove both cylinder heads when I discovered that a thread repair was not properly done on the left head-no Locktite was used. It was a good head but I found another perfect head and replaced the one with the insert. The cylinders were inspected at that time and heads put back.
