Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1978 Chevy K20 Pickup truck. I took this truck in from a guy who owed me money and don’t have a use for it. This is a very solid truck and has a killer drivetrain. I haven’t driven the truck but a few miles but I have looked the truck over from head to toe and will give a description to the best of my knowledge. The truck is an original Small Block350 4bbl truck, ¾ ton, built at the Janesville plant according to the vin number. Odometer reads 13,426 miles. The truck is now equip with a 350 small block from an early 90s GM throttle body truck. The truck has an Edelbrock Intake, Edelbrock Carb, and Edelbrock aircleaner. It has HEI ignition, hedman long tube headers with true dual exhaust. The exhaust on the truck is very nice and it sounds good! The engine runs great, fires right up, idles smooth and makes no odd noises. The truck has the serpentine belt drive from the early 90s truck. The power steering and alternator work as they should. The motor had low miles on it when it was installed in the truck. The motor has been in the truck for no more then 150 miles. Transmission is the 4 speed manual cast iron gearbox. The transmission shifts smooth, all the gears work great. The trans has the “low” first gear (granny gear) as well. There was a new clutch installed at the time the motor was installed. The NP205 transfer case is bullet proof and works as it should. It shifts to 4 lo and 4 high and I see no issues with it. I just had the front driveshaft on the truck rebuilt and the u-joints were loose when I got it. They rebuilt the whole shaft with new joints, new slip yoke, and rebalanced the unit. The rear driveshaft has newer U-joints as well. The truck stops, steers, and drives perfectly. The front end is a Dana 44 and has 4.10 gears installed. The truck has Warn manual locking hubs that engage and disengage nicely and work as they should. The front Ujoints all move freely and show no slop. The front steering is all really tight. Also the ball joints were changed at one time and replaced with greasable joints. They have no slop in them at all. The rear end is a 14 bolt full floater and has 4.10 gears as well. I don’t hear any howling or noises while driving from the differentials (Front or rear). Truck has a 4” suspension lift kit, springs in the front, blocks in the back. It sits on Eagle Alloy 16" Aluminum wheels with 33x12.50 tires. 2 of the tires are good, 2 of the tires have tread left but not a ton. None of the bushings on the truck are dry rotted, they are all in very good shape. The truck has dual gas tanks but the right tank is not working. It seems there is an issue with the switching valve and the left tank is bypassing the valve and the truck only runs from this tank. The tanks were both replaced with plastic tanks and they are both in very good shape. The fuel gauge does work with the left tank. It appears all the lines, wiring, and switch for both tanks are there, but it may need a new switching valve? I haven’t looked into it. The interior of the truck is all there. The seat is in decent shape, the carpet is intact. All the gauges work as they should. The blower motor switch needs to be replaced as the handle is broken off and I cant switch it on or off. The body of the truck is pretty nice. The bottom side of the moldings has been painted with a spray on bedliner material. The only rust on the truck is by the drivers side door handle it is bubbling a little bit and above the drivers side rear wheel, not right at the wheel opening, but 2 inches or so above it there is a very very tiny bubble, smaller then a dime size just starting but it is VERY small. From what I can see there is no bondo on the truck and all the sheet metal is original. The hood has a hole in it in the front from running into something in the previous owners garage. The paint on the hood is starting to fade anyways and that is the only bad spot of paint. Just on the tops of the fenders (hardly at all) the clear coat is slightly peeling but its just barely. The truck shines up nice and is pretty straight. There are a few knicks in front of the driver side wheel below the molding on the front fender. Truck has a spray in bedliner in the bed, the sides look real god but the liner is peeling on the bed floor. Truck has factory roof lights and LED lights on the sides of the truck that work with the parking lights and look really cool at night! As you can see, I described the truck as best as I could! I just got this truck last week and went over it and best as I could to make an accurate listing. This would be a fun truck for offroading, the sand dunes, or just cruising around. I am selling as I have no use for it and just took it in as the owner owed me money so I took the truck. I have a clean and clear title in my hand for the truck. Thanks for looking! On Apr-25-11 at 20:06:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I am unsure of the actual mileage, the odometer reads 13,xxx, but probably rolled over and is 113,xxx. Just wanted to be clear, thank you.On Apr-27-11 at 18:47:39 PDT, seller added the following information:Just wanted to add, the small rust bubble over the drivers side rear wheel well about 2", the bubble is a little bigger then I described, there are 3 bubbles total, 2 are about the size of a quarter and 1 is smaller then a dime. These bubbles are close to eachother and are minimal, just something I wanted to point out. I cant even get a decent picture of this area to post. Thank you
