Vehicle Detail
UP FOR BID; My 1992 Electric-Blue Geo Metro. I have owned this car for about two years. It has the factory paint job. Everything about this car is original from the factory except the radio. I believe this color has helped prevent accidents because you can see the car as if it were bright yellow! I have the title in hand. It runs like a sewing machine. When I first bought it I drove it from Montgomery Alabama to New Orleans Louisiana. I filled it up to the the top of the gas tank and checked the mileage. It got an astounding 48 M.P.G.! It has that highly desired combination of the 3-cylinder, 5-speed standard shift transmission. It is a daily driver. Never wrecked. I am the second owner and I suspect this was kept out of the sun most of it’s life because you can see there are no cracks in the dashboard. The first owner was up in central Alabama so you know it was not ever driven in the “rust belt”. There is no rust on this car anywhere. The odometer says 49,000+ miles which is probably 149,000, but it runs like it only has 49K on it! I am not sure so I am listing 149K My mechanic says he can not believe this car is still going so strong for a car that has all but disappeared on our roads. This was was kept up with in every way. Headliner is fine. It recently passed the annual required brake inspection this month that certifies that all safety systems, lights, brakes function up to par. The engine purrs and idles beautifully. It always runs in the green (normal temperature) even in the hot summer with no over heating problems. It is very dependable and starts every time. I have used it for local driving only but I know it could easily be driven cross country if one wanted to buy it and drive home anywhere in the U.S. and use it for a daily commuter. Recently I spent $995.00 on having it tuned up, plugs, new plug wires, new coil, new struts in front with strut ends, and upper frame bushings, and alignment. Front end is now tight and back to factory spec. It has a decent radio that works with decent speakers. The fan and defrost works fine. It does have a factory installed A/C system but it has never worked since I owned it. I never wanted to spend money on that since I just use it to back and fourth to work in the French Quarter. The only thing it is going to need is a set of tires soon. These probably still have about 5000 miles left on them. Spare is perfect and never used. Reason for selling it is that I just bought a new car yesterday and can not afford to keep two cars. So I am passing it on to some lucky buyer on E-Bay which is where I found it two years ago. Please do not bid on this if you do not fully intend to purchase it. I am starting it our at $2000.00 because this is the minimum I want for it and we all know a car that gets up to 48 M.P.G. in this day and age that runs reliably is a very valuable thing. Good luck and thank you for bidding. On Apr-30-11 at 05:59:15 PDT, seller added the following information: I now have photos of the underside available. Sorry I have been out of town until this morning and not it's to late to modify the add. If you need these send request with your email address and I will email them to you. There is no rust on the undercarriage and no rust perforations anywhere on the vehicle for that matter. Now I can prove it better.
