Vehicle Detail

This is a 1966 Chrysler Newport 4 door sedan. It has a 383 cubic inch big block V8, 2 barrel engine and a 727 transmission. It has power steering and power brakes. This car can be driven anywhere anytime! No need for a trailer, just fly in and drive it home. These pictures are as the car is today. I bought this car 7 years ago for my Classic Taxi fleet. We did all the paint and body work. There are additional pictures on the web at www.classictaxi.org. Now keep in mind that the photos on the web site are from 7 years ago when we first put the car on the road. All the glass is good. All the stainless trim is there and is in perfect condition. The front grill is straight but has some pitting. The rear tail lights have some pitting but still shine up good. Both “Newport” emblems on the quarter panels are perfect. The interior is in great shape except the dash pad is cracking and the arm rest coverings. The seats are very good. Door panels are also very good. All doors open and close easily. The windows wind up and down like new. It has a working FM radio. The floor pans are solid as is the trunk floor. All lights work except one turn signal and brake light on one side. It's probably the switch in the column. I have installed 300 watt headlight relays in all the cars, which keeps the light switch cooler. The engine runs fine but puffs some smoke when its cold. As soon as it warms up it clears right up so its probably the valve seals. I replaced them a couple years ago and it cleared right up. The valve seals can be replaced with the heads on the engine so it's no big deal. The transmission pan gasket is leaking so it uses some transmission oil. The rear end was rebuilt a few years ago, with new pinion bearings, carrier bearings and both rear axle bearings. I replaced the alternator and regulator with a one wire Chevrolet alt and wired it so the amp gauge works. The alt is a mid 80's unit and is available at NAPA anywhere in the world. The brakes work fine. All the brake lines were replaced and a new booster put on last summer. The roof is good but has 3 one eighth inch holes where the top taxi light was mounted. It has some paint bubbling on both quarter panels visible above the fender skirt. Also a couple of rust holes where the sail panels meet the top of the quarter panels. The fender skirts are perfect. The rear doors are perfect. The drivers side front door has four spots that are rusty where the trim clips are. The hood is slightly bent but not bad. The trunk lid has two rust spots at the lower lid sides. See pictures. The right front door has a little dent under the door handle and a crease about mid door. See pictures. The rocker panels are perfect inside and out. The right front fender was hit by a mini van a few years ago and it also bent the right side of the bumper. See pictures. The grill was NOT bent in the accident and does not effect the head light alignment. I have a new triple plated front bumper and a front fender in perfect condition painted to match the car. I never got around to putting them on. The front fender and bumper ARE NOT part of this auction but will be listed separately. I replaced some steel on the sub frame on the drivers side but now the passengers side needs it too. Just look at the side I did and do the same thing. The inner fender wells have some rust holes over the front tires, no big deal. The car needs one upper ball joint and upper control arm bushing. I have the ball joint and at least one set of bushings. They go with the car, I have other small stuff, points, switches, paint, etc. I've had my fun with her. She needs some work but will run everyday. Very dependable. I will need $500.00 within the 24 hours of the close of the auction and the balance when you pick the car up. The car must be picked up within 7 days. I have a clear title to the car. Serial # CL41G63306750. So that's it. Any questions or if you need more pictures call me 410-600-5037 or 443-497-3721.
