Vehicle Detail

69 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE - ONLY 14,000 CONVERTIBLES MADE OUT OF A 299,000 UNIT PRODUCTION RUN. This car was owned by my wife's grandfather, hardly ever drove it. We've owned it for 7 years and have LOVED it. It hasn't honestly gotten much use due to the fact that we have a special-needs 8-year old AND we've got our second child on the way and need the room in the garage AND the bank account. The quick facts: 351 ENGINE, 4 BARREL CARB TOP-LOADER 4-SPEED TRANSMISSION DUAL EXHAUST POWER STEERING FRONT DISC BRAKES ORIGINAL 9 INCH REAR END NEW TOP WITH REAL GLASS WINDOW ENGINE RESEALED 3 YEARS AGO. NEW FUEL TANK Here's the VIN breakdown for all of the Mustang afficionados: VIN# 9T03M158235 9=1969 T=Metuchen, New Jersey 03=convertible M=351-cid 4-bbl V-8 Body code: 76A 6 2B 08A 13 R 5 This means: 76A=convertible 6=Pastel Gray (currently aqua blue) 2B=Trim? 08A=8th of January 13=D.S.O. R=rear axle 5=4-speed manual It starts right up, runs well. Been driven a few times around the neighborhood each year for the past 7. Our mechanic shop just went through the whole car and took pictures of everything, they tell us it runs and drives great, basically just needs some interior work and minor body stuff to make it a clean daily driver. Having said that, this is of course NOT a Concours restoration. It is a GOOD, FUNCTIONAL driver that can be restored to the level of your choice. If you want to strip it down to nothing and build it up to showroom perfect, this is a GREAT starting point as it has ALL of the original hardware minus the drum front brake set-up (but who in their right mind would WANT drum brakes on the front?) If you just want to have a 60's Mustang to toodle around in, you can jump in and drive off the minute money changes hands. The pictures are what they are, we make no bones about a few problem areas. We're not trying to hide anything, we want you to have as much information as possible to make a good decision. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!On Apr-16-11 at 11:04:53 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 04/16/2011 We have just found out that this Mustang is ONE OF ONLY 194 M-CODE 4-SPEEDS! This is according to Kevin Marti's book 'Mustang...By The Numbers' We have also posted more pictures, mostly interior. You can see that the front seat bottoms have been re-done but the backs and rear seat appear to be original. The non-factory tach on the passenger side (though in an odd place) works perfectly. There is no way for us to know if the Hurst shifter is orignal, but it's there. Hope this helps!
