1953 Mercury 2 door post This is a oldschool custom 53 merc that has had lots of body mods,the doors are shaved, headlights are frenched,55 pontiac front bumpers,molded rear with 50 ford taillights,all body work was professional done and is very straight,there a few very small cracks wich you would have to really search for to see,the paint is sikkens robins egg blue urethane with flattner added,the top is cleared with silver flake and is wet sanded and buffed,It also has an extensive amount of pinstriping done by Ray Benson,The trunk is solid as is the floors,the front floors have each had a small patch panel made at one point which look to be done well,the chrome is very nice and straight.It is powered by a nicely detailed and painted 292yblock mated to a 3 speed manual,the motor runs excellent,the trans shifts good but will pop out of first once in awhile(only when letting off the throttle),the clutch is heavy on this car but works well,It has been completely rewired front to back and is done very neatly,has a new holley carb,chrome valve covers,duals with smithys,new aluminum radiator,It has been lowered by cutting the front coils and 3"blocks in the rear,because of the cut coils it is alittle bouncy,The car is also set up for front airride,the tank is mounted compressor is wired and lines are run the only thing to be done is to build bag brackets,I will include 4 bags in the auction,The trunk is also finished nicely and houses the tank and compressor for the airride,The interior is very clean and has new carpet,paint,stereo/cd player,doorpanels,and side panels all gauges work except the speedo(i think it needs a new cable)the heat and wipers also work good,the headliner is ok but has a few holes near the rear window,about the only thing it really needs is two front tires and it will be ready for cruising,from being lowered they are on the worn side,Overall this is a very clean and straight oldschool car that runs excellent,looks excellent, and is very reliable,There was alot of time spet on this car and there is alot more invested in this car then what the reserve is, you will not be disappointed with this car it looks as good and clean in person as it does in the pics,I am only selling it because I bought another project and need the money and room,any questions please ask.Thank you.
