You are bidding on one 1984 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce in great ORIGINAL condition. No wrecks, etc. Solid car. Great top. Seats reupholstered. Needs a little attention here and there. One bump on very bottom of passenger air dam. Overall a great driver. Great top, very little rust, surface rust only(except for a couple of holes in spare tire area), body and paint in great original shape!! Rebuilt transmission INCLUDING 2nd GEAR AND SYNCROS ADDRESSED!!! Recent clutch, motor mounts, head gasket and valve adjustment, starter, cat-back exhaust, exhaust manifold, water pump and radiator.(ALL WORK DONE BY PETER KRAUSE). New In-Tank fuel pump and front high performance German made brake pads. New clutch slave cylinder. New tires!! $5K+ in receipts!!!! Original owners manual, jack and tools, but missing original lugwrench. TONS OF PHOTOS HERE: http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa267/velocejoe/Alfa%20Romeo%201984/ Odometer stopped working at 111,703 in 2001. Was father's car that was passed to son. Son drove it very little from 2001 to present.....Wife, kids, etc... Here are the details: ENGINE: Engine compression COLD 120psi across the board. Battery is kinda weak, so I would expect it to be higher with a better battery. Runs great. No leaks, etc. Cat-Back exhaust at 109,112 on 5-22-96. New head gasket, water pump, starter, radiator, motor mounts, fan shroud, exhaust manifold, and valve adjustment performed at 111,703 miles by Peter Krause on 8-20-01. New in-tank fuel pump 3-31-11. TRANSMISSION: Completely rebuilt at 91,603 on 2-7-92. 2ND gear replaced along with all syncros, shaft bearings and seals. NO GRINDING IN SECOND GEAR!!! Shifts great! New clutch at 111,703 on 8-20-01. New clutch slave cylinder 3-31-11. CHASSIS: Floors in great condition. No rust except for two holes in spare tire area. One "hole" where the factory plug goes under driver pedal area (See photo). Some light surface rust on suspension. This car is VERY, VERY solid. Original suspension holding up well. Maybe replace the tie rods in the front. They are a little bit loose, not bad really. Rear passenger wheel bearing needs attention.(Best to just do both). Driveshaft support bearing needs attention also. New tires! Tires are 185/60-14 ULTRA HP 4. New front brakes 3-31-11. Spare rim has some material missing from very outer edge, had it checked out and it does not affect performance....it's a spare anyway. Original Michelin spare rubber in great condition! BODY: Nearly rust free! Original paint. Top appears new and in great condition. Paint in great condition. A few chips here and there (See photo link). Needs a good wax and it will shine like new. One spot of surface rust on driver rocker panel. One bump in air dam. Caused very slight wrinkle in passenger fender right where headlight/fender meets. Tried to show it in photo. Radiator support perfect, was not a major impact by any means, no issues. Get the right person to pull the air dam back out and it should straighten up fine. Small indention on passenger rear near bumper (see photo). Passenger brake light assembly broken on the side but works properly. Driver front parking lens broken, lamp still works (See photo link). Trunk springs have come loose, trunk still opens and closes, but having the springs re-installed correctly will keep trunk open while up, no big deal really, just a convenience thing. Door weatherstripping could stand replacing, all other weatherstripping in good condition. INTERIOR: Seats reupholstered and in great shape. Back of driver seat has come loose though. I'm sure it just needs to be put back into place, but I have no clue how to do it and did not want to mess it up trying. Carpet original and in good condition, just needs a good cleaning. Dash is good except for one small crack. (See photo link). Nice Clarion tape deck. Door panels in great shape. Ashtray missing. Passenger side A/C vent/dial on console is out. I have it. ELECTRICAL: Aux horn button installed at ashtray, stock horn triggers not working. Push button starter switch installed at switch. You still have to turn key to on position, to start car. Previous owner obviously didn't want to replace the switch just because it wouldn't engage starter. Battery is kinda weak, but works fine. ITEMS NOT WORKING: Speedometer/Odometer. Power mirrors, Heater fan(Switch engages light, but fan does not come on). Interior light assembly in rear view mirror is missing. WHAT WOULD I DO: You can drive this while you address a few things. Replace rear wheel bearings and driveshaft support bearing. Change all fluids just to be safe, except oil. Just changed. Give it a good wax and enjoy!!!! Car drives great, performs very well. I can deliver within a couple hundred NOT THOUSANDS of miles for a fee. Buyer is responsible for ALL shipping arrangements and vehicle must be picked up within 14 days of auction end. Otherwise a storage fee of $20/day will be charged for each day over. I am flexible though, as long as you communicate with me :) Thanks and good luck! On Apr-10-11 at 16:51:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Door locks are in working order. Forgot to mention. On Apr-13-11 at 07:15:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Had a couple of late questions about the car, figured I would answer them here. As listed in auction, title is fine, no issues, clear. You can drive this car anywhere. No problem. As stated in auction, the right rear wheel bearing will need attention at some point. It's not terrible, just a little play in it. Only time it has ever made noise while driving is when putting on brakes lightly for a long distance, like a long stop at slower speeds. To go across country, you could have it rectified as a precaution, but if you want to take a slight risk, you would probably be ok. I have a fantastic Alfa specific mechanic here in town if you wanted to have it done. Ok, thanks and good luck!
