Regrettably, I have to sell my pride and joy. My 1989 240 Wagon! We just caved in and bough a van for our ever expanding family and it's just been sitting in a darkened garage, collecting dust for about the last nine months. The realities of the economy are hitting hard and the bills are piling up. That said, it's time to sell off some luxuries. So, as they so commonly say here on eBay, "My loss is your gain." HISTORY: I've been driving her around town for the past two years while, trying to avoid getting into a new car payment, mostly to classes at my University and running errands. I don't have a regular commute, and like I said, for the past nine months, shes just been sitting in the garage. She's not seen much action at all lately. I bit the bullet and had the AC replaced and it blows cold! I also tinted out the windows just to keep down the interior temperature, and to keep the contents of the car to myself. I'm a musician, so I tend to have equipment in the back that I don't want being seen. She passed the smog check with flying colors and other than that, I really haven't had to do much of anything other than regular maintenance, which I have all the records for. This is my third 240 wagon. I have been a 240 enthusiast since the first time I rode in my uncles '84 wagon in 1984! I was just ten years old. I found this beauty on Craigslist in Reno. It had 81K original miles on the clock! I called the guy and jumped on the next plane to Reno and drove it back to Orange County the next day! I can honestly say every one of the past twenty-seven thousand miles have been a delight. It's a shame to see her go. I had visions of doing a complete rebuild and bringing her back up to showroom status but, my imagination far exceeds my mechanical abilities and my wallet. But this is a perfect low millage platform for anyone wanting to do just that! On paper I am the third owner of the car but really, I would consider myself the second as the guy I bought if from rescued it from the original owners who were about to donate it to a charity. So, he only had it for a short while and i'm sure made a nice little profit for himself I assume. That's about all I know. I've just driven it and changed the oil. It's always been expertly maintained from what I can tell and has years of life on the motor, as I'm sure you are well aware of;) CONDITION: I had to put a brand new battery in it since it had been sitting for so long and it smells a bit musty so I've been trying to air her out the past couple days and get her out of the garage a bit. Still runs like a champ and hasn't skipped a beat! I am not a mechanic by any stretch but I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere in the US or Canada. Mechanically she's solid as a BRICK! As it is a used car of over twenty years of age there are a few little things. Obviously there are a few battle scars here and there. All of them were there when I bought the car, I just never got around to pulling them out. Everything electronically worked until recently. The power windows stopped working. I think it's just a fuse or a bad switch but it never really bothered me since I pretty much roll the AC most of the time anyway. TERMS: As I stated I have some bills to pay so this is going to be a short auction. I'll be happy to coordinate with any shipping companies to the best of my ability and I will try and answer any questions, as long as they are not stupid questions. Just kidding!
