Vehicle Detail

This is my second listing. I have lowered the reserve and added a buy it now price as was suggested by potential bidders. I made sure that I have included pictures of the engine compartment and trunk. You are bidding on a 1956 Chrysler Windsor Newport. The engine is a 331 Spitfire V-8 and is original. It has a two speed automatic push-button transmission. I have owned the car for the past eight years and have driven the car approximately 4000 miles. The miles are all driven in the summer months and the car is garaged in the winter. 1956 is the first model year for the 12 volt system which makes life a little easier when replacing bulbs, battery or anything electrical. This car is rare in the fact that it has power windows, power assist brakes and power steering. All four power windows are working. The original radio is in the dash, but does not work. I have installed an AM-FM-CD player under the dash and a power antenna. The engine is original and the odometer reads 36,450 miles. I have driven the car approximately 4000 miles in eight years. When I bought the car, the odometer read 33,000. It may have been 133,00, but I have no way of knowing for sure. This car is not professionally restored. It has been worked on as needed and runs well. The paint job was done in 2005. The original colors were forest green and mint green two tone. I had it painted kelly green and mint green to brighten it up. Again, the car is not professionally restored, but has been taken care of during the eight years that I have owned it. It looks good, drives good and is a lot of fun. Since I have owned the car, the following has been done: Generator rebuilt and voltage regulator replaced last summer. Battery replaced last summer. Master cylinder replaced two years ago. Brakes done a few years ago, but less than 1500 miles on the brakes. Car painted in 2005 and seats reupholstered in 2006. New hoses and water pump rebuilt in 2007. The trunk was always very clean and I re-did it 2004. The engine and engine compartment are original. I believe the chasis to be solid and there is some rust on the underside floor panels Issues that I know are that the front bumper is chipped and showing rust spots, The headliner came unsewn at one panel, but is in pretty good shape overall. The paint job has a couple of dings and scratches near the rear wheel wells. It is also time for tires. Please check the pictures and ask questions. The car is located on the north side of Chicago. Please let me know if you would like to see it. I am also including a shop manual and a chrome sun visor that attached to the outer windshield. Please don't bid if you have negative, low or zero feedback. The buyer is responsible for picking up the car or having it shipped. This car is sold in as is condition with no warranties given or implied. It is the responsibility of the buyer to inspect the vehicle or otherwise satisfy himself/herself as to the value and condition of the vehicle and to bid solely on upon that judgment only.
