Vehicle Detail
size="4"> Scroll down to see more photos- this is a cool car! Take a test drive in the video below! Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 "Simpson" is a very original and unique Triumph with just 50,552 miles. The car is in excellent mechanical condition. I have recently replaced the alternator, air filters and a worn ball joint. He also has a new brake and clutch master cylinder, fuel pump, fuel hoses and spark plugs. I would drive this car anywhere! Simpson is ready to go! This is a rare car and it would be quite difficult to find one in such nice condition! The interior is also excellent, showing virtually no wear. I have included a photo of the original British Leyland pedal pads, showing minimal wear, which, along with the extensive documentation that comes with the car, confirms that 50,000 miles is the accurate mileage for this vehicle. I have all the records and all the MOT receipts from when he was in England, to authenticate the original miles on the clock. The woodwork is perfect. The dashboard is excellent with no cracks on the dashboard top. Everything works on the car and it is a joy to drive. The paint is good and the car shines quite well. There are a few minor dings on the sides of the car, and few minor blemishes in the paint. Still, the car presents very well and arouses quite a lot of attention. If you are looking for an inexpensive, unusual and fun car to enjoy, Simpson is worthy of serious consideration. He's one of about 25,000 TCs that were made and it's arguably one of very few that were ever imported to the states. This is a really fun car that attracts tons of attention. Simpson is also quite user- friendly with plenty of room inside and a nice large trunk. He's also quite fuel efficient. The Michelotti styling is quite handsome for a simple sedan. And all the running gear is Spitfire with twin HS2 SU carbs, so service is a breeze and parts are readily available from the multiple British parts suppliers who sells Spitfire parts. For example, I was able to find a new ball joint online immediately and I will be happy to provide the new owner with a list of various parts suppliers for any items that may be needed for maintenance in the future. This car was purchased in England on June 28th, 1974. He comes with the original owner’s manual and service book, with all the dealer stamps in place from routine service. The car was also rustproofed in 1974 by the dealer and the original certificate is included. He was sold in the 80s by the original owner to Father Simpson, who seemed to only drive on Sundays, because he sold it in 2002 with just 43,267 original miles. That owner imported the car to the states in 2002. He's gone only about 7000 miles since then. I've had a blast with this car. It's simple and fun. It's a lot more practical than the British roadsters I am accustomed to driving yet the right hand drive and uniqueness make this car just as much fun to enjoy. It's a car that anyone can drive, with a full synchro gearbox and very simple mechanics. A few words about right hand drive cars... I used to dismiss them, presuming they were just not practical on USA roadways... but now that I have owned several of them, I see that they are my favorite British cars to drive. They are very easy to drive... nothing like driving a RHD car in England (which I found very difficult)! Driving a RHD car in America is easy because everything looks the same as in a LHD car, you are just sitting on the other side. I also must admit I feel safer in a RHD car because I feel like I am further away from oncoming traffic. As an avid cyclist, I merely drive where I would position my bike, and all this makes life with RHD easy and fun! So if you haven't tried it, you are in for a treat!
