1957 VW Beetle For Sale: The car was taken apart with the intention of a full restoration but we have too many projects going on and we want to see it go to a good home instead. It needs to be restored but we have many parts and the body is solid and in great shape. The rocker panels, front and rear fender, and the front clip need to be replaced, but we have the fenders and the front clip body parts. We have the original door panels and original seats to the car, after some minor repairs they would look as good as the day it was built. The odometer reads 14905 miles, and the engine runs well (see movie) and compression is great. The points and rotor and distributor cap have been changed. Then engine needs an overhaul and fresh paint but aside from rebuilding/replacing the fuel pump, carburetor, and muffler this engine is ready to go. It is a 36 hp. “doghouse” engine, and original to the car. The manufacture’s number is 553323, and it bears Wolfsburg emblem in the center of the steering wheel. This car has potential and would make for a relatively easy restoration. It has been in our family for about 15 years, and has sat inside our garage the whole time, prior it had sat in a sealed shipping container since 1988. I believe we are the 3rd or 4th owners of this car. She is really a gem and with a little work she could be a prize winning show car. We can make arrangements to have the car shipped nationally, and we can personally deliver the car within the New England area for an additional fee.
