Vehicle Detail

We have up for auction a 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang. Having the distinction of being the first block of ponies ever produced, they were an integral part of the Mustang madness that swept the world in 1964. Introduced on April 17, 1964, this baby was born May 28, 1964. Two family owners. California black plate Mustang coupe. The black license plate is the original plate and that means this Mustang has spent its entire life in desert dry So. California - so, rust or corrosion is not a concern. VIN # 5F07F15107. This 2-door hard top was built in Dearborn, Mi. on May 28, 1964 with a 260, V8 and standard white interior #151207 painted Dynasty Green, Metallic. The car has P/S, P/B, original AM radio, 14" wheel covers with knock-off caps. Has four-dual range cruise-o-matic. The 1st owner worked for a Ford dealer as a mechanic and he rebuilt this 260 V8 motor at 100,000 miles, so you know it received the best workmanship and parts. He passed away and left the Mustang to his daughter. The engine compartment and trunk areas are all original. The seams are clean and dry with all trunk items; cargo mat, spare tire with mount, jack and lug key wrench. This is a non-smoker, garage kept vehicle. It's a show winner!! This Mustang was ordered from Ford to Los Angeles with the 260 V8 2V-V-8, 164 hp. F-code upgrade option. To be a 64 1/2 at all, a Mustang has to be factory equipped with some and/or all of these items: . A generator charging system, a 260 (F-code), . Large horns mounted down on the frame behing the radiator, . All 64 1/2 Mustangs had the brake light switch screwed into the master cylinder. This is a pressure switch, . A center "off" heater fan switch, . A generator charge light, . Eaton power steering pumps. These are features exclusive to Mustangs built between early April 12 and July 31, 1964. This Mustang has the "Dearborn Hood." Most 64 1/2 Mustangs had this unimproved hood leading edge. The hood was coined the "64 1/2 Hood" by hobbyists or "Dearborn Hood."
