Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on an all original 1973 Plymouth Road Runner. Factory 340 Pistol Grip 4 Speed, 8 3/4 3:23 gears, open rear end. I checked into the amount built & the 340, 4 speed combo is 1 of 956 cars built in 1973. This is an original blue on blue car with a white stripe. Car has power steering, power brakes, & front & rear sway bar. Interior - Needs headliner, carpet, front seat covers, radio, & amp meter (after market under dash / works). Door panel uppers in good shape except driver's rear has couple dings in front edge. Bottoms need to be dyed but driver's bottom is junk. Kick panel on passenger side is cracked. Rear seat is in very good condition. Speaker package tray is junk. Fuel gauge, speedo, oil gauge, temp. gauge, lights (dim/bright), & directionals all work. Mechanical - E-brake works, brakes work decent; few miles on them (new pads, calipers, shoes, & wheel cylinders - 1987). Has air shocks; don't leak. Radiator has wet spots. New gas tank & filter. New hoses at sender, pump, & fuel filter. Tires have a couple thousand miles on them but are starting to weather check. Motor runs good, but could use some carb work. Choke is non functional & thermoquad is worn. Motor does use oil (does not leak); about 1 quart to 800 miles. Previous owner put a Lumpy Cam in car, but as far I know, motor is original. The alternator charges; battery is not included. The back up lights stay on all the time; the switch in the transmission must be bad (I removed the lights) Under car - Frame rails are very solid, passenger side floor is very solid, driver's side floor needs 10" x 3" patch under pedals. Truck extensions have dime sized hole on passenger side; driver's side is solid. K-frame on driver's side in front is pushed up where sway bar passes through; doesn't effect the front end. Body - Quarter bottoms are in poor shape, but are repairable. Area above wheel openings are solid. Before I owned car, the passenger quarter was hit & replaced. Driver's fender is very solid but has mud behind headlight. Passenger fender is starting to come through at edge. Door bottoms are rusted but repairable; small hole on passenger side on bottom front. (I have access to 2 rust free doors if interested. I need $300 for the pair) Cables in remote mirror for driver's door broke. All door & jamb gaskets are in good condition. Driver's outer quarter glass seal is missing. Both doors don't stay open; they swing shut on their own. Rockers are solid. Deck lid is very straight; 2 feet of bottom lip is spread open from rust. Roof has 2 very shallow depressions (not dents). Hood is straight with 30% surface rust underneath. Windshield wipers don't reset but wipers work. Taillights in good shape; passenger bezel has dings. All glass is in good shape with minor scratches. The grill & headlight bezels are in good shape. I have a Wisconsin title for this car. The car was last painted in 1984 so nothing is hidden. I bought this car in 1987, & put 20,000 miles on it in 3 summers. I parked the car in fall of 1989 in my dry garage up on jack stands & has sat there until 2 weeks ago. I did turn the motor over & ATF'd it every couple of years. I tried to the best of my ability to describe my car so if you have any questions, please call me anytime on my cell at 920-540-4591. If no answer, please leave message & I will return your call ASAP. Please ask any & all questions as this sale is final. This car has sat in my garage for too long & it is time for it to find a new owner who will restore it. The car has a lot of potential & is VERY fun to drive. As bad as the quarters look, it is amazing how solid of a car is underneath. I set my starting price at $2,750 because I feel this is more than a fair price for this car. I am willing to deliver car for $1 per mile; 1 way charge. My zip code is 54130. I will arrange delivery upon payment. Thanks for looking - happy bidding! On Mar-25-11 at 19:52:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been receiving many emails & phone calls. Following is some additional info. that has been asked about: On the right side of engine, above the oil pan, is a machined flat surface with the digits stamped 3R350455 which matches the VIN code. Cast code on block is: 2780930 & cast code date is 6(?)-25-73. Sun visors are in good shape. All 6 seat belts are there & work. Interior light works. Please continue to ask the questions & thanks for looking!
