Great off-road truck needs a little TLC to be back on the trail again! This would be a great project vehicle for a Father and son, or anybody looking for a fun project! 1981 Ford F-150 4X4 with 300cid (4.9L) “Big Six” six cylinder engine (VIN: 1FTDF14EXBPA25154). Professionally rebuilt engine was installed in September of 2004 and has less than 5000 miles on it. 4” Procomp lift kit; Detroit Truetrac up front and Detroit Locker in back; 4.10 gears; 4-Speed manual transmission (NP-435) with “Granny” 1st gear; NP-208 two speed Transfer Case; 33x12.50R15 BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain tires (about half worn); 40 gallon rear gas tank and 18 gallon front tank (truck will go over 600 miles before needing another fill-up); and a Vortex sprayed-in bed liner. Now the bad news. The rear differential (Ford 9”) has exploded taking out the rear axles as well. This should be a fairly simple and moderately inexpensive repair for the relatively skilled mechanic. Up until the rear diff broke this was a very fun and tough off-road truck and has easily handled many of the more difficult off-road trails in the Tillamook State Forest (TSF). I can send you video of the truck, in action on a tough hill in the TSF, if you request it. The right-front has a little body damage, from off-roading in the TSF. The front and rear bumpers both need re-chroming or paint. The interior is a little rough, but functional. The truck is running and somewhat drivable, on front axel only, but would need to be transported to the new owners location. Overall this a great truck, it just needs a little work and you will have this truck climbing mountains, on rutted dirt and mud trails, again!
