1988 Renault Medallion. Rare car. Very rare car. So, please, unless you have a connection with an obsolete Renault parts dealer/mechanic, are a Renault enthusiast, live in France, or are very handy, this vehicle is NOT for you. I learned this the hard way and although I'm looking to selling this car, I don't want another unsuspecting soul to fall for its very low mileage and think you're gonna make this your long distance daily commuter. Now for those of you remaining, It is indeed a rare piece and a very clean car for its age. Its an automatic with a 2.2 liter motor and I purchased it from an elderly woman who was its original owner about a month ago. I have since purchased a (green) passenger side rear view mirror, purchased a new front muffler (Meineke $$$), and had the pipe connecting it to the rear muffler fabricated (Meineke $$). I purchased a used battery for it, and am awaiting a window regulator. Car runs but will need some work. Engine runs strong and trans shifts well. Engine hesitates upon acceleration (broken vacuum line? clogged fuel filter/screen? I don't know.) Exhaust needs a couple of gaskets (doesnt sound too bad) and I recommend a full tune up (which may address the hesitation). In addition to the window regulator I am awaiting, it needs another (unless you are somehow able to repair the defective one). Will need the drivers side axle (clicks when turning) and the windshield has a chip in it (round, not cracked and not spidering). The car is currently registered and insured and gets used on an nearly daily basis. It is located in North Plainfield, NJ and I welcome and encourage inspections. Also, please know that this vehicle is being sold on an as/where is basis and must be picked up and paid for, in full, within 1 week of auction end (unless other arrangements are mutually agreed to PRIOR to auction end).
