Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1968 Lincoln Continental 2 door Coupe. It is a current daily driver with no known considerable mechanical problems to worry about. If it was a realistic choice I would tell it will take you from cost to cost. The interior is very nice, there are 3 cracks on the dash, 1 rip on the headliner and that is it. Intact seat covers. Since the car is not watertight water caaused discoloration on the driver side seat cover. Must clean out perfectly, seal can be repaired. It has minor flaws around the electric system. Its grounding might be faulty since during multiple days long sitting the battery (brand new NAPA 84 months premium) gets drained. I used to disconnect it when I would not drive the car for more than a day. Power window: left passenger side needs slight manual pull in the middle position while pulled up or might get stuck. You would just have to play with it. The rest of the windows work but I did not operate them too much so far so I am unaware of tricks needed to operate them if any. Power seats: the forward backward motion in inoperable, but the retained tilting functions will allow proper adjustment to anyone. The AC compressor is as big as another car's engine. I don't know does the AC work or not. Let's assume it does not. Heating is decent but only if you use the defogger function. Always starts and shifts perfectly (start it as an old car). The Park/Neutral safety switch is going out - the car might start as normal, or you would have to pull on the shift handle a bit; last resort is starting it in neutral. It does not drip oil but some seeping happens - a wash would help to diagnose. Mechanic suggested oil pan gasket or maybe engine back seal. It does not leave a mark on the pavement! Body is rusted through on one spot on the front bumper, multiple small spots on the rear bumper, also in passenger compartment behind passenger side seat. This damage is shown on pictures from under and from inside. Radio was told to be disconnected - does not operate and I did not go into investigation. It had a new CD player installed but I took that out already. It did not belong. The car is original and unaltered. One of previous owners installed some glass pack mufflers, one of those went missing, the other one will go soon. The installation does not look professional at all. So far I did not get a ticket for waking the neighborhood when going to work with that terrible noise. It has been re-painted previously maybe multiple times, but always to the original color so even if scaling is present it does not look bad. see close up pictures. The top cover has underlying rust spots underneath. From some angles it looks better, so I included multiple pictures. The engine is 8 cylinder and I will try to find out the exact size. Automatic transmission. You can see on the pictures that weird towing equipment. It should be taken off I think. Breaks are in perfect condition, tires are very good too.
