For sale is my 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 XL with California black plates. Registration is valid until July 2011. This is a beautiful car with clean, straight lines. The car is mechanically solid, the engine starts fast and runs smooth, and the a/c blows cold. The interior is extraordinarily clean for a classic car of this age (or any age). The car was my grandmother's, and I kept it garaged for several years before recently deciding to put some work into it and sell it. The following is a list of more than $3500 worth of work that I had done in September/October 2010. Most of the work was performed by Hrant Auto Service in Pasadena, CA (http://www.yelp.com/biz/hrant-auto-service-pasadena) except for the new vinyl top, installed by Arthur's Auto Upholstery, and the a/c and fuel system repairs, done by One Stop Auto Electric (both referred by Hrant and both in Pasadena). The new engine has less than 10,000 miles on it, however I lost the paperwork documenting the work and the mileage. A test drive should satisfy any driver that the motor runs smoothly and provides plenty of power. There is some minor damage to the passenger door, but I have a blue, replacement door that I will include with the sale. There is also a very small dent below the driver-side door handle that is not easily visible. I also have two extra hubcaps and a thorough shop manual. The windshield wipers that are currently shown are new, however, I have the originals and will include them installed or with the other parts that I'm including.
