1960 Chrysler Imperial 2dr. Crown which was the top of the line coupe imperial in 1960. The car was recently found and was a barn find and stored for many Years! I tried to clean her up the best I could. The car has what appears to be the original paint. Not quite sure 100 percent. The car is one of the coolest old looking cars from the 50s-60's I have ever seen! I love the big fins and every neighbor around had to stop by and check it out! The car is very solid condsidering its over 50 years old I think its held up quite well! The car has solid frame, solid rockers, solid floor pans front and back, solid trunk although it does have surface rust no deep cancer. The car does also have some spots of rust bubbling I saw some in the rear quarters, and on the front of the hood, other than that the cars solid! The car is also extremely straight except for the passenger side rear quarter by the fin has a lil dent that can be popped out. The car has all good glass, The car has what appears to be the original motor 413ci but needs a carb, I was told it was running back in 2000 and it was last registered in the year 2000. Although I have not tried to turn the motor over yet. I am working on getting a key made. I will put a update in a couple days and tell everyone what happened. All the chrome is salvagable and in pretty good shape with minimal pitting. All the trim looks there except the passenger side front fender trim. I dont have. I also dont have the other part of the steering wheel. The car is a push button automatic and tranny is in the car. The interior needs help front seat is in ok shape, the back seat is rough and needs recovering. Headliner is not good, needs carpet kit, dash is in good shape, and all gauges are there and look good. The hood latch cable broke. The car has all the hubcaps, and tires will hold air but leak out after a while. The car is one nice 1960 and one you dont see for sale very often! Especially the cream of the crop of its day. It was right up there with a 1960 cadillac. When I saw it I had to have it! All in all the car is very restorable and is worth doing! I just dont have the time as I am working on another project that is totally consuming my time right now. I know you could buy one restored for about 35-40k but Why? When you can restore this one yourself and have all the bragging rights this summer at all the cruises and shows!!! Title was lost from the old man I bought it from He was last registered owner, but I had him fill out a bill of sale, and Also a lost title application in his name and all signed off. On Mar-17-11 at 16:46:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Update The car does have power steering, and was an A/C car, although the A.C components are no longer in the car. The motor does turn freely and is not siezed. I turned the car over manually, and did find 2 keys in the car but couldnt get the ignition to turn, dont know if they are the right keys.
