1939 DeSoto 2 pass coupe project. Great project car to hot rod or restore. Very rare, less than 5200 built that year. This car is titled as a 39 Dodge, not a DeSoto, basically the same car just different fenders and grill. But it IS a DeSoto, I also have the Dodge frame to include with this auction. The body for the most part is very solid. It does have rust in the trunk floor and rear pan, but another full rear floor is included. It also has some rust in the lower pass rear quarter and both wheel wells, all easily repaired. The body and many parts had been sent off and chemically dipped and etched to strip paint and rust, so nothing to hide!! All 4 fenders are very solid and very straight for their age. Nice hood, sides and grill. Nice trunk lid, very straight and only 1 small rust hole on the inside about golf ball size. Drivers running board is really decent needing re-covered, the pass board does have some rust and cracks but still repairable. An extra driver r-board is included along with a 39 plymouth pass board to help repair the damaged one on the car. This car is missing the engine and some related parts, but it does have the 3 spd trans, driveshaft, engine mount, radiatior and other engine related parts. All the trim plus many extra pieces are included. Good rear glass and quarter glass, no door glass or windshield. Good solid doors, all garnish mouldings plus a few extras are included. All door hardware is there plus several other sets. Good dash, it is complete less guages, It also has many extra parts, extra front floor pans, both sets are very solid. Nice uncut firewall. 2 sets of bumpers and irons. Includes factory heater, seat, haelight buckets lenses etc. 2 sets of tailights, all the interior trim/ headliner bows etc are there plus many extras. Gas tank looks to be in useable condition. Full set of extra fenders, extra hood tops and 1 side, partial extra grill, extra rearend, extra front suspension, extra r-board braces, many extra interior / door handles etc. Extra trunk hinges and latch assy. It has 2 stock DeSoto wheels and 3 later DeSoto wheels. Full set of original hub caps. Extra headlight buckets and lenses. And many more extra parts. NOS hood ornament. Extra steering column. Rolls and steers. Again this would be a great restoration or hot rod foundation. Very rare car in any condition. $250 deposit within 48 hrs and the remainder within 7 days unless other arrangements are made prior to bidding. I can store free of charge for 30 days after auctions end then $5 per day after, unless other arrangements are made prior to bidding.
