Vehicle Detail

VIN Number 2J57Y7A184993, Last licensed in Oklahoma in 2001. I am selling this 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix due to retirement circumstances and moving to a townhouse from my private home. This Grand Prix was to be one of my three project cars which have never been dealt with. I purchased this '77 Grand Prix from a mechanic's shop in the Oklahoma Panhandle in July of 2005. The car had repair work done to it and was never claimed (paid for) as the owner involved ended up in a divorce. I bought the Grand Prix with a legal Oklahoma Bill Of Sale (legal way of transferring vehicles in Oklahoma). I have a the orginal set of keys for the 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix This 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix has a Chevy 350CI engine in it with Mickey Thompson Headers attached and a Eldelbrook Performance Series 4 barrel carburator (which was brand new before the vehicle sat from 2002 on). The Prix was purchased with foot wide tires mounted on Krager chrome rims. The rear has a pair of air shocks which work and can be used to raise and lower the rear end. The glass is all good and there are no dents on the exteiror body. The car body is very clean regarding rusted portions however I have noticed that one rear quarter panel has small rust holes through the very upmost bottom portion (only visible from looking downward in the trunk or looking up from under). The floors inside the car are solid and intact. The exterior paint job had peeled on a portion of the hood and on the passenger side front outside fender and a spot on the passenger door. The paint job is mulit-colored which is evident in the photos. Regarding the mechanical condition of the 350CI engine and 350 Turbo automatic transmission, both work and operate. The 1977 Grand Prix, running and driving, can be seen on You Tube at the following address; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKvBC4naYmc Initally in August of 2005, the Grand Prix was started up and run after having the starter replaced at a local repair shop. After it was verified that it ran OK, it was parked and had sat until this last Summer of 2010. I had it and another of my project cars started up and run tested. What my mechanic found was backfiring problems with the '77 Grand Prix (as is evident in the You Tube video). The Edelbrook carburator wouldn't operate 100% correctly or there was a stickly valve? With no current plates the Grand Prix was only driven from my mechanics home (down the street) and in my yard. The car has a nice rumble and looks impressive in motion. Regarding the title issue, in Minnesota (and most states) there exists a process referred to as a "Bonded Title". One fills out some minimal paperwork, provides several photos of the vehicle and pays a small portion, forward, to secure a bonded title. The new title is issued along with license plates. That was always my plan and I have the paper work for the process however, there was no point unless I actually intended to drive the car on a regular basis. The price is listed at $995.00 which is far below what I purchased the '77 Grand Prix for in Oklahoma, plus expenses involved with trailering it to Minnesota, new starter and mechanic fees in 2005 and 2010. Now due to transisioning into retirement, I have no future plans for the vehicle. Please email me with any questions or concerns and I will try to address them. Anyone interested in bidding on this Grand Prix needs to keep in mind that I can't deliver it. This would have to be a onsite pickup or transport through a commercial carrier. The Pontiac is located about 30 miles north of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota which makes it a fairly easy pickup for most commercials carriers. I can help with the loading on my end either with a pickup, in person, or through a commercial carrier.
