Vehicle Detail
1972 Ford Maverick NO RESERVE This is a 1972 Ford Maverick, very few have the looks of this car, there is just something about it. A customer of mine, brought this Maverick to me last year, and said that he would like to buy some 1969-73 Magnum 500 Mustang wheels for it, I suggested a red Torino Cap would look nice as well. After we put the wheels and tires on it, I had to have the car, what a great look. He called me one day and asked if I knew anyone that would like to buy it, and I couldn't resist myself. I was in love with the car before, even used it in some of my advertisements and love it even more since it is in my garage. I get to own some great cars one at a time, and this Maverick is one of those cars. This car was bought new at McRobert Motor Co, Inc, in Gresham, Oregon on 9/14/1972, by a gentleman named Walter Rice, aslo of Gresham, Oregon. He owned the car up until July 1997, sold to the second owner, the car has had a total of 4 owners. I believe that the car has 79,245 miles on the odometer, I do not have documentation of this, but it is pretty obvious when around the car. It is not very often you see a Maverick in this condition. It is not perfect, but it is a very nice Survivor, that has been upkept by some very nice owners, this car has lived a pampered life. The body on this car is very nice, it has been repainted once, around 10 years ago, and it still looks very nice. There are a few little scratches and a few chips that have been touched up. The paint has a very nice shine, this is a car you can take to shows and drive at the same time. This Mavericks body panels are in very nice shape, no rust bubbles under the paint, very very solid. Please study the pictures as you look through them. The chrome is in very nice shape as well as the trim. There are a few small dings in the trim but darn few. The undercarriage is very clean, as you can see in the pictures. There is one rust spot that needs attention, that I never saw before until I got it on my lift. On the rear drivers floor, it needs a small floor patch, you can see a picture of where it needs to be fixed. This would be pretty easy to fix. If you plan to keep the car garaged I wouldn't worry about to much. The frame rails are very clean, rockers are very nice. This is a very nice car underneath. The trunk area is very nice and original. There are a few really light surface rust spots on the truck floor, but very minor, and could be wire brused off, no problem. The glass is all very nice in the car. Windows roll up and down nicely, front windshield is clean no chips. Overall this Maverick has a very nice body on it, and looks great. There are a few flaws on the body in general when it comes to paint, but it is about 10 years old so it is showing a little patina, overall a nice 10' car. Interior is very nice and original. It has its original shag carpet as ordered on the window sticker. The seats are original, dash pad is original, very clean. There is one wear spot on the passenger seat on the side. Overall, the interior in this Maverick is very nice for its age. I don't even know what to write about the interior, it is pretty self explanitory. Drivetrain, is in great shape. You could drive this car right now back east, no problem. It runs great, starts right up and it is ready to go. Engine is the Original 1972 250 Inline 6, it gets great fuel economy, and you has a lot of get up and go, you would be surprised. The 250 - 6 cylinders are almost bullet proof, one of the best Ford Motors ever built. I guess if someone wanted to put a 302 in it down the road they could, but this car is so original, it would be a shame, depend on what you like. The transmission shifts very nice, no issues, no noises. Brakes work great, no pulling, stops nice. The Wheels and tires only have 400 miles on them. It has 1969-1973 Ford Mustang/Torino Magnum 500 Wheels, 15X7 Chrome, with Torino Caps, with P235/60/15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's all the way around, and they look great. Overall a nice original car that has been well cared for. It is not a trailer queen, it has been driven and enjoyed. The Valve Cover and Air Cleaner have not been repainted, that is original paint on them, they look nice, no paint masking around the stickers. All the inner Aprons and door jams are original paint. Original window sticker $3126.37, and Warranty Card. Marti Report included with sale. This was the original title from 1972 that was issued to the car. The DMV was nice enough to let it stay with the car as a Souvenir. This is the Current Oregon Title, clean bill of health. VIN numbers are all intact, on Dash and on Inner Door Jam. These are the Original Oregon Plates issued in 1972, look on the 1972 Title. I am no movie producer, but hopefully you get a feel of the car. I will say while I am driving it, it is very quite inside, my camera picks up every little noice possible, including static, so inside it is very pleasant and quite. There is a small crease across the rear valance, easy to fix, this panel just screws off, and needs to be lightly fixed and repainted. Seat belt light does work on the right below dash, the other switch is the front Sport lights, and yes they do work. All the door Jams are original paint. This is the original sticker on this valve cover, notice it has not been taped around. The paint on the valve cover is original. These are the original Belts that were on the car, notice the Ford part numbers, D2ZE, and D2TE. Very light surface rust, I should have cleaned it off, with a wire brush but I did not, it is a very clean trunk. You can see this little spot on the rear of the floor, this will need to be fixed one day, pretty easy to fix this. The rest of the floors look great.
