Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE I am selling my 1987 944 Turbo in stunning Slate Gray Metallic over light tan interior. I hate to see the car go, but my family is growing and I need to get rid of my toy. Mileage is 170,000 but I had to replace the gauge pod due to a broken odometer gear housing - common issue on these cars. Indicated mileage on the replacement gauge pod is 86k. The car has a recent respray (before I bought it) in original Slate Gray Metallic. Paint is high quality Standox paint and is a pretty decent job. There are a few imperfections, specifically on the hood where it appears prep work wasn't perfect. There is also small dent in the hood where it looks like someone closed the hood with something underneath. It is hard to see, even in the photos. I have had this car since 2006 and have put less than 10k miles on it. It has spent most of that time in the garage under a car cover. I have put quite a lot of work/money in the car since I bought it. See below for details. The bad: there are two mechanical issues that I know of. I replaced the sunroof gears, but apparently did not adjust them properly. The sunroof can still in installed/locked and removed, but doesn't currently tip up. This is easy to fix, but I haven't had the time to take it back apart. Since it can still be used either fully in or fully out, it hasn't been a priority for me. The other issue is a small oil leak. This is extremely small and appears to be coming from the rear main seal. Over the last 4 months in storage, only a few teaspoons of oil ended up on the catch tray I have underneath. New tires ~6k miles on them - Fuzion ZRi in OE size Power steering rack rebuild, bushings, lines Cap, rotor, spark plugs - NGK BPR7ES Stainless steel braided fuel lines/AN fittings Replace factory air intake Replace rear hatch, rear hatch seal Sunroof gears Shift boot Shifter linkage Wind deflector hinges Water temp sensor and sender Flush/fill/bleed brakes with ATE super blue brake fluid Replace transaxle oil with Swepco 901 Headlight relay Exterior window molding Timing belt and water pump were done by previous owner approximately 10k miles before I purchased in 2006. Around the same time, the head gasket (wide fire ring) and heater core were done. An Accuboost manual boost controller is installed along with an air fuel meter and mechanical boost gauge. Pagid black brake pads are installed with a fair amount of meat left on them.
