Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my very nice 1978 Suzuki GS750. As you can see by the pictures, the bike is in extremely nice condition. The bike has obviously been stored in-doors for much of its life, because it does not show the usual patina of surface rust on the heads of bolts, the exhaust system or frame. Everything on the bike works. All lights, switches, indicators, speedo, tach, gear position, etc. work perfectly. The engine is very smooth. Throttle response is linear with absolutely no dips or hesitation anywhere in the rev range. It starts first time, every time, the starter engages smoothly, and is quite easy to start using the kick starter for when you want to look olds-kool. I have replaced many parts with new on the bike such as all cables, brake pads, grips, handlebars, fork oil, wheel bearings, chain & sprockets. I have also done all the preventive maintenance on the bike such as re-greasing the swingarm bearings and head bearings, done a valve inspection & adjustment, synched the carbs, and checked the timing. The engine does not smoke or burn oil in the least little bit. If you do some research you will see that the Suzuki GS750 engines are one of the most robust engines (with a roller bearing crank) to ever be put in a motorcycle frame! And with 14K miles, it is just getting broken in. And parts for these bikes are still readily available at your Suzuki dealer. Again, the bike is in fantastic shape. It even has the orginal exhaust which is in equally fantastic condition with no rust of any kind inside or out. The original exhausts on this bike are extremely hard (almost impossible) to find in good/excellent shape are worth quite a bit of money by themselves. As you can also see, the bike has spoked wheels with dual disc front brakes which is a much sought after combination. The gas tank has been repainted at some point in the past. It is free of rust on the inside. I did apply the pinstriping seen on the bike, but it can be removed quite easily. The seat and cover are also in fantastic shape and free of any rips or tears. The tires have very little wear and will not need to be replaced anytime soon. Simply put, this bike could be ridden across the country without hesitation. The classic Suzuki GS motorcycles of the 1970's are the best bargains on the classic bike scene! These bikes are usually 1/3 the cost of a HONDA CB750 and 1/4 the cost of a similar condition Kawasaki KZ. They will do nothing but increase in value as more people interested in classic bikes become aware of their good looks, value, performance, and reliability. My reserve is very reasonable, and someone is going to get a really nice bike that needs nothing for not much money! Payment/shipping: I require a $100 deposit through PayPal within 24 hours of the auction ending. The final balance/payment must be received within 7 calendar days after the auction ends. The shipping expenses will be paid by the winning bidder. I can help arrange shipping for the buyer, and can assist with the pickup of the bike. The bike is available for viewing at any time. Call or email with any questions. Thanks and ride safe this year. Trent 641-344-9254On Mar-19-11 at 07:05:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I screwed up the VIN # when I originally listed the bike. The last number in the VIN as listed should be a "SIX" and not a "G". Sorry about any confusion.
