1970 Mercury Cougar, 351 Cleveland 4V M Code, The engine is suppose to run, I have not tried to start the car. This car has had the same owner for almost 20 yrs and he purchased the car from original owner. The car is complete, the only thing I am aware that is not there is the air cleaner. The engine aprons are in very good condition, driver side has a little rust. The passenger side top is in good condition, the battery tray is rusted out. The hood has some large rust holes. The fenders and doors appear restorable, the quarter panels look useable, I dont have any keys so I have not seen inside of the trunk. The rear frame rails look pretty good. The floors need replaced. The interior is in pretty decent shape for its age and appears pretty complete. It has a couple of tires with dry rot and only hold air for several hours. The engine is very complete with exception of the air cleaner. I have ordered a Marti Report and will post that when I receive it. If you have questions, please ask prior to bidding. A little more info about the car, the ignition switch on the steering column is removed, so even tho I didnt get keys with the car you can steer the car without any issues. The air cleaner and S tube was on the car when I found it, I removed that for another project of mine. So there should not be any contaimation out the usual in the carb. The sellers told me they had the car running a couple of years ago by disconnecting the gas tank fuel line, and running fresh gas from a gas can to the fuel pump to the carb. They told me they were concerned about having gas sit in the gas tank so long before starting so they used fresh gasoline which makes very good sense. In my mind the engine probably needs rebuilt it is 41 yrs old so whether it runs or not isnt a big issue in my mind. This a pretty rare car, its a M Code 351 Cleveland 4 Barrel. I will post the Marti Report in a couple of days.
