NO RESERVE Here is a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible. It runs and drives down the road just fine, completed a 375 mile round trip last fall. About this 500 XL convertible; first off, the engine is newer, it has a 429, or 460 (not sure how to tell) engine in it, new radiator, it runs strong, no leaks or unwanted noises. The transmission shifts fine. Mechanically the car is pretty sound. The body is also pretty solid, the floorboards are solid, the bottoms of the doors look nice, the frame has no rust, the only thing I see are a few tiny holes in the center of the trunk pan. The paint shines well and looks good, but it is an older paint job and does show a few nicks and blemishes here and there. The Power top is less than one year old, it goes up and down fine with no problems. The chrome bumpers and grill are in very good condition, and are very straight, the car appears not to have been hit or bumped any time in its life. The side trim is all intact, shines well but does have a few blemishes. The interior looks to me to be the original interior, it is not ripped or torn but does show some age, still looks good. There are aftermarket gauges mounted underneath and they are in good working order, oil pressure, water temp, and amps are all functioning where they are supposed to be. There is also a newer stereo mounted in the glove box. The tires are in very good condition. The power top does have a leak in the rear and will need to be fixed, still works well. Also, the blue top boot comes with the car. Overall, this car is a good driver quality car. It is not a trophy winning show car, but it still looks very good, the paint and chrome still shine well. This is a car you can get in and drive to the local cruise night, with the top down, and it will fit right in and look good. This car is very fairly priced, and priced to sell!!!
