Vehicle Detail

1956 Ford F100 shortbox dry Montana truck for sale. Complete running and driving truck, but needs a re-do to be show quality. This truck was pulled off a Montana ranch as an original survivor some years back and received an amateur restoration, and has mostly been in storage for the last 15 years or so. It's a 6 cylinder 4 speed. I got the truck pretty much as you see it, and just did the typical fuel system, tune up, and electrical work to make it useable. I had the fuel tank professionally boiled, carb cleaned and put on a new fuel pump, line and filter. Truck has had a tune up and valves adjusted and starts and runs great. No leaks/smoke etc. Brakes, clutch, and charging system work fine. New light wiring harnesses front and rear and headlights, tail lights and turn signals work. Great starting point for that complete restoration or fix it up a little as you go and drive and enjoy it during the process. CANADIAN BIDDERS WELCOME IF THEY CAN PICK UP THE TRUCK IN PERSON. Call 406-four six five-7102 between 5pm and 9pm MST with any questions. Exterior: This is a dry truck from the arid high plains, land of the sage brush and prickly pear cactus. We get an average of 10 inches TOTAL moisture per year in this valley, and no salt has ever been used on the roads. We just don't get the kind of major rust that is seen from more humid areas. Only when mud is allowed to build up and hold moisture do we see any rust issues. This dry truck has only minor rust, I can only see evidence of rust in the running boards (repairable-shown), the bottom of cab (repairable -shown) and under the hood by the hinge on both sides (repairable-shown). If there are other areas you want me to look over, just holler. The truck has had a cheapie respray in red on top of the original "D" code light blue paint, and very little body work was done. There is filler in both front fenders, the hood doesn't fit right, and the dents in the top of the cab were not attended to. It's a 20 footer at best. Windshield is cracked as shown. Bed wood strips have been replaced with a sheet of plywood. Truck nas NEW park light assemblies, tail light assemblies, headlight buckets, and driver door glass. Tailgate is rough. IF YOU LIKE, I HAVE A MINT BOX I CAN SELL THE WINNING BIDDER FOR AN ADDITIONAL $500. It's the style without the spare tire carrier. NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION, PLEASE INQUIRE. Interior: No rust inside that I can see anywhere, function is good. New driver door glass, door striker plate and window regulator shaft. New window crank handles both sides. Needs pretty much everything cosmetically if you want a show truck. Mechanical: Runs/starts great and clutch and brakes work fine. No smoke and no leaks whatsoever from drivetrain, had this in my shop for a month and no stains on floor. Headlights, tail lights, park lights and turn signals all work. New complete park light and tail light assemblies, and new headlight buckets. New light harnesses front and rear. Charging system works. Complete fuel system recondition. Windshield wipers not operational, original switch and motor are there plus another used setup(switch, wiring, and motor comes with). Overall a great starting point for complete restoration or fix it up a little as you go. Pricing: I have been watching prices on these for the last year and this truck needs to move so it is priced accordingly. NADA shows a low value of $7125, and Old Cars Price Guide has it at $4000 even in the very lowest (Number 5-parts) condition. I set the buy it now below parts value so the truck will move, and the reserve is MUCH lower than that, so this truck will sell. If you would like a completely finished truck, there is a frame off restored red 1956 F100 shortbox currently on Ebay for $60,000. Bid often and early! THIS VEHICLE IS LISTED LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY Terms and Conditions: Successful Winning bidder must call 406-four six five-7102 within 24 hours after the auction has ended to verify purchase and make arrangements to complete the transaction. A non-refundable deposit of $500 must be paid via Paypal 48 hours. Within (7) days of the end of auction, full payment must be received either by bank to bank wire transfer, or cash in person. If funds are not received, and an alternate arrangement has not been made, the vehicle can and will be made available to other potential buyers on a first-come, first-serve basis. Shipping/Transport of Vehicle: Shipping is the buyer’s responsibility. I have had good luck with Certified Auto Shippers LLC of Portland, OR – ask for Kathy. You can also go to www.shipvehicles.com and request several quotes – I usually toss out the lowest bid and any that require up-front payment. I will coordinate with your shipper upon his arrival to Helena and assist with loading the truck. It is EXTREMELY difficult to find a trucking company that will deliver all the way into Canada, so Canadian bidders please have that lined up, or plan to drive down in person and pick up the vehicle and take it across yourself. I have plenty of experience selling vehicles to Canadian buyers and am familiar with the proper forms and procedures necessary to cross the border successfully. Balance of Payment: For the balance above the paypal deposit, I accept bank to bank wire transfers or cash in person. I am not going to let a vehicle out of my possession until I have confirmed funds in my hands. Let me repeat: CASH OR BANK WIRE. DISCLAIMER: All vehicles are sold "as-is" and without warranty. I will make every effort to present information that is accurate. Under no circumstances will I be liable for any inaccuracies, claims or losses of any nature. Price does not include taxes, registration fees, finance and/or documentation charges, or shipping fees. To ensure your complete satisfaction, please verify accuracy prior to purchase. You are the buyer. You are responsible for making yourself educated on the vehicle. Please ask all questions before you buy and not the reverse. I will not refund your deposit and that is non-negotiable. Online Bidders are entering into a legal and binding contract to purchase the vehicle described above. If you do not intend to purchase this item, DO NOT BID! Unqualified Bidding, or any form of harassment can be subject to legal prosecution, and I reserve the right to cancel bids and/or our auction at anytime for any reason. IF YOU HAVE ONLY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK OR BID RETRACTIONS, DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU EMAIL FIRST On Mar-08-11 at 16:57:11 PST, seller added the following information: *******UPDATE 3-9-2011**********Wow thanks for all the interest! There are some very knowledgeable folks out there! I have gotten many calls asking me to check several common rust areas on these trucks. I checked them all and posted some more pics. The good news is that I don't see any rust looking inside from the front fenders, or inside the truck anywhere. Several people requested more pics of the floor since there were some dark appearing areas in the original photos. I don't see any rust looking down in the front cab corners from the inside (shown). I did find one more area under the truck that would be the driver front area of the lower cab (not visible from inside truck or from wheelwell) which is shown. I looked along the top of the cab and don't see anything but minor surface rust on the inside from sitting outside and that being an unpainted area. There are some wasp nests up in there! I don't see any rust on the passenger front area of the cab. So we have the following areas that show evidence of rust: As I mentioned, the running boards have some rust holes(can't be seen in the pics as they are under the rubber steps). The driver rear lower cab as shown (this spot looks worse from under the truck). The new area I took a pic of underneath and inside the front cab area. The underhood by the hood hinge area as seen in the pic both sides. Lastly the passenger rear lower cab doesn't show any rust from the outside but I can see it starting from underneath on the inside. That's all I can see, it appears to me that these would be a fairly easy fix. I don't think you'll have much luck finding a better truck these days. There is a non-running dry Utah truck on Ebay now at $4500, with no pics of suspect areas, if you want to take a look at that one too. Thanks again!
