Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 I am selling this car on behalf of a friend. You can contact me via email or him at 805 291 1658. You are bidding on a 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne 4 door sedan. We believe he is the 3rd owner of this local car. He is selling it because he needs the money to pay off student loans and is “losing” the garage it is being stored in. The car was a solid builder when he started work on it. It showed no signs of being in a collision and was not a rust bucket. The ’62 needs some interior TLC to make it a clean street custom. We believe everything but the headliner to be original. Buellton is 2 miles from Solvang, so if you are in the area with your lady (hint) check out the Biscayne! Business: The ’62 originally came equipped with a 235 6 cylinder 3 on the tree manual trans. The car now has a 305 ci low mileage transplant. An automatic column and swing pedals were swapped at this time too. The 305 has an HEI distributor, one wire alternator, rebuilt carb, new pc valve seals, rear main seal, timing chain, and new gaskets. Also during the transplant the matching 700R4 trans was installed. It has been rebuilt. This keeps the rpm’s down and gas mileage up on the freeway! The drive shaft was modified accordingly and included a rebalance and new u-joints. A fresh dual exhaust exiting shotgun style in front of the rear tires with short glass-paks barks nicely. The Biscayne has a Optima battery with new cables, starter and heat shield. The 4 wheel manual drum brake system has had all wheel cylinders, shoes, spring kits, master cylinder and front hoses replaced. One rear axle bearing/seal was replaced. New plastic emblems, and trunk weather stripping were added. Pleasure: The paint is DuPont Chroma Color laser Blue on both the roof and body. The roof had a House of Color Kaymon flake added over it. The roof really makes the car pop. All panels were hand sanded and buffed to give a smooth as glass laser straight finish. A 4” drop all around was accomplished via spring coil cutting. The front needs to be raised up for proper alignment, as the camber adjustment cannot be made. He was going to get airbags or dropped spindles to allow for camber adjustment but did not get to it yet. Brand new 14” Supreme rims all around complete the early ‘60’s look. The original black and yellow plates indicate it was never unregistered or that they are original to the car. The tires were also recently replaced. The car has been seldomly driven since the paint job, but when it was always proved to be reliable.
