Vehicle Detail

I am the 3rd Owner since 1975, My Dad was the Second Owner. 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Original L36 427 390 Horse Power. Engine is Numbers Matching . T-Top Power Steering Power Brakes Originaly had a Transister Iginition System . My Dad passed away so our Father Son project has passed away also. We had planned on someday restoring this car together but without him it just isnt the same for me. My Dad is from Albany New York and was Good friends with Jack Muldowney (Shirley Cha Cha Muldowney's Ex husband She was the first lady Drag car driver) and in 1979 He helped us freshen up the engine. It is a Standared Bore with Original Pistons. The Original Rods were resized and the Original Steel crank was turned. The Heads also Originals then had a 3 angle valve job with New from Chevrolet L78 valve springs and 7/16 Pushrods and New Extra long slot rocker arms balls and nuts and L78 Hi Rev lifters All New from GM in 1979. The Camshaft is a Crane Fireball Hydraulic 550 lift with 320 duration. A TRW Oil Pump and Double roller Timing chain and gears, the Rings are Hastings with Chrome oil rings and are the only internal parts that are not GM. Jack was a big believer in building an engine that could hold together just like the Drag car engines he used to build . The engine has the Original Oil pan, Windage Tray ,Valve covers , Intake Manifold, Exhaust Maniflods. The Carburetor,Distributor,Alternator, and Power steering pump are not original. The Transmission is an M22 Rockcrusher that is not original. The Original transmission was an M21. The differential is from a 1971 Corvette but is the original 308 ratio. The car has been Garaged since 1975 and was last driven regularly in 1998. It is Non-oped from then on. I wolud drive it once a year with a one day trip permit up until 2007. I started it up every month until my Dad passed away. It last ran in August 2009. The ID Numbers are as follows Engine block pad TO709IL 183428092 Block Casting 3935439 The Trim plate MO6 Trim 411 Paint 976 LeMans Blue. In 1996 the Radiator was recored and the Power steering ram and control unit were rebuilt byPaul from Corvette World in Rancho Cordova CA. Also the VIN is 194378S428092. The Body has Ecklers Flares from the Original owner. I would like to se this Car go to a Good Home. I have a low reserve that is about Half of 10 thousand. All information I will stand by. Buyer to pay shipping . This car used to mean a great deal to me but now its time for it to mean something to someone who can give her new life. On Feb-21-11 at 15:17:18 PST, seller added the following information:The car had 55k original miles in 1979 it is at 80,511 now.The M22 was installed in 1980 after the M21 cluster gear broke. It had All New Bearings and Syncro's Seals & gaskets. It is hard to believe that 36 years later it still looks the same as when I bought it. Time has a way of going by, sometimes too fast.I added some more pictures to show things that I have been asked about in Email.
