Vintage 1966 Ford Galaxie Convertible Excellent Condition -Click Photos to Enlarge - For SALE a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible. Purchased by existing owner in 1994. When the car was bought it had 130,000 miles on it, today it has 138,000 miles although, the car was driven frequently for fun cruising in and around nearby towns. During all this time it has been garaged in Sarasota, FL. Following is a description of this classic, any questions feel free to call me at 703-624-1753 or email at TDCM@kolbio.com - thank you, Tim The body is in good shape, there are some chips and dings on the paint, but nothing very disturbing. To the best of my knowledge most of the chrome and brite work is original. There is some wear and tear there but generally looks fine. Body work and Cinnamon Bronze paint job was done in 2000. Warm and inviting scheme of body and interior is a great color combination. A new top and rear glass window was installed in 2001, the top is also in very nice shape. The convertible top frame could use some minor adjustments. A top “boot cover” was fabricated and included in the installation. The seats and upholstery are original and only the drivers seat shows wear. The floor boards in the rear could use some spot welding on the under carriage. The interior looks good aside from a spot discoloration blemish on dashboard. A CD/AM/FM system under the original radio was installed about 4 years ago. The Galaxie has power steering, brakes and windows. It also has an automatic transmission and air conditioner. Have not used the A/C very much since an overhaul in 1996. I would imagine the A/C would need a Freon tune up. The speedometer and gauges are functional, the clock does not work, neither does the original radio. Both can be fixed. All lights, wipers and directional’s are in working order. The w/w tires have about 3,000 miles on them. The brakes have been replaced 5,000 miles ago, including all wheel cylinders, R&R boosters and front wheel bearings. At same time the engine was overhauled to include lifters replacement and rod adjustment. Oil changes and preventative maintenance have taken place on a very regular basis. The 390 cu. in. engine is original, and the car runs well. The battery is around 14 months old and well maintained. All transmission, radiator, power steering and brake systems are functional and in working order. The trunk is spacious with a full size spare tire, and has the original jack and accessories. The Galaxie was serviced by one mechanic in Sarasota, FL since 2002.
