***NO reserve bidding – Bid to Win******Please read entire listing or call me with questions before bidding – 210 789-6227** Excellent interior-exterior – performance **detailed video on youtube** Email or call me. ****Excellent YOUTUBE VIDEO call or email me*** ** call Ed 210 789-6227** This is an original factory color, original miles, two owner car that had been previously stored for 16 years. Verified miles - 21,460 (Title history verified / clean carfax). Engine has a $37,000 restoration and transmission/clutch work in the last 100 miles. Previous motor build is a $60,000+ Holcombe (MODE) twin plug 3.4 build. *IMPORTANT* Original owner/collector claims he custom ordered this car for U.S. track work (1 off build Vin# 93A0070065) with original 6, 1979 ‘metal’ date stamp to validate claims. Factory original Carrera RSR 10,000rpm tach & 200 MPH speedo also ‘metal’ stamped 6, 1979 from Factory. We have had detailed conversation with Porsche Germany and such cars did exist, but few known. Porsche AG claims that when these cars hit the track, interiors were eventually gutted and modified as technology evolved and documentation is rarely found. Porsche AG claims that the only way to verify such “special” vehicles is to start to “date match” items like gages vs manufacturing date. Verified on February 16th, 2011 that this 1980 Euro has both OEM 10,000rpm tachometer and OEM 200mph speedometer metal stamp dated 6/79. Those gages coincide with car build date of 1980. The boost gage dates 3/12/87 which coincides with Holcombe build date and 16 years of storage as claimed by original owner. In any event a unique car with very special gages that could identify a unique factory build?. I do not expect this to make a difference in purchase price, but new owner could be a true Porsche follower and understand the intrinsic value. When I purchased – I was unaware of the potential value and unconcerned with the previous owners claims. I wanted it because it is a Holcombe and would save me huge expense on building a hi-performance 930. I have spoken to Mr. Holcombe a couple of times and he is willing to wrench on this car whenever you want. A great honor being that Bob is not willing to wrench on many 930 these days. He likes the full build out stuff. Color is Vintage 464-9-3 depending on light it looks charcoal, bronze and metallic brown. I have received many questionable comments on the internet concerning the color, but in person I can tell you that it draws considerably more attention and compliments that any other 930 I have owned (I previously owned Black, 2 Gray and a Silver). When this one moves down the road it looks positively mad and when parked people actually stand next to it to take pics or videos. Not my thing, but I find it entertaining. This color simply compliments the totally raw engine sound. The HRE’s say bad business – Gotti’s I am indifferent – look at the factory crests – rare? Must see videos to understand. Call me for video info **210 789-6227** No rust no body damage other than what you see in pictures and video. Leather color fading on dash and sills – no tears or wear. Seats had no wear, but were badly faded so we replaced the leather to cork with matching rear. As seen in video carpets are in real good condition. Overhead liner sagging a little (sunroof) but no wear or tear. Seatbelts - like new, gage face leather dash– very nice. All knobs & sun visors new like new. Carpets real nice. Everything works in this car – interior lights – all 3 wipers – front fan switch for turbo oil cooler - everything including the AC. Holcombe headers do not allow for a heater. Front hood surely needs repainting – adjust in your bid offer - and front fiber air damn touched ground often so it could use some fiber work (2 to 3 inch cracks) when painting hood. The front fender just barely makes it over speed bumps – San Antonio roads are very sloppy. **MOST IMPORTANT** Best of the best engine build and upgrades. Holcombe – need I say more? Dr. 930 had his hand in the car and Jones Autowerks presently maintains it. If you recognize the names you know this is as good as Porsche gets and the best money can buy. Engine has a $37,000 restoration and transmission/clutch work in the last 100 miles. Yes, 100 miles since last Jones Autowerks rebuild/tuning and stored for 7 months - oops. I simply do not use the car, but is drives like a dream (comfortable and smooth as glass) and docile until you gas it and transformed into a Tasmanian Devil growling, spitting, screaming, popping and burnings wheels as you move into 3rd gear at 88mph. It pulls as hard in 4th as in first and its bulletproof build is designed to do it all day. Original motor build is a $65,000+ non-compromise Holcombe. Mechanically 10 out of 10. "Bulletproof" Performance history. This is where the car shines. Sub 4 second 0-60 if you can handle the WEVO and manage wheel spin. 8/41 ring and pinion matched to this engine is awe inspiring to even the most veteran racers. A true racers car. Don’t worry, it will scare you and gain your respect on delivery start up – it did me. RAW. Its my fifth turbo and on my trial Super Highway run it got sidewise on me moving into 3rd at 90mph (The new GT LSD takes care of that). Hard core easy to play with but requires utmost respect when pushing. I respectfully suggest - experience is a must when at 1 bar or above. This is a 1.4bar build. Everything taken into consideration - the entire build is performance /reliability matched to every other part of the build. Max performance - max reliability just like it should be. From the custom chromed intake with 3inch tubing throughout to matched output of 3in Holcombe headers, 3inch Hybrid AIResearch turbo and Holcombe 3x36inch exhaust. From WEVO system shifter to Patrick Motorsport’s best Kennedy Clutch into Jones hand built transmission with 8/41 ring and pinion - into adjustable GT LSD and out to concentrically matched wheels with the lowest possible rear unsprung weight to take advantage of the lightweight racing flywheel from Patrick Motor Sports. Ooof. All one perfect circle of performance with gorgeous Holcombe flow-work and a his custom grind GT2 cam as a heart. Simply a well though out race proven expert build by the expert builder. Una nave! The car comes with the Gotti’s - shoed with $2,400 worth of PZero’s 345/30 and 225/50. Less than 200 miles on tires. Extra set of matching Yokohamas included. HRE’s not included unless bid winner calls me to negotiate price. I wanted to keep them for a 935 build I am moving into. Carpets in real good shape, leather discoloration on doorsills and dash. Seats were stained and discolored so I replaced the leather. No tears on dash, overhead liner or doors, but plenty of discoloration on sills and dash. I think leather on dash is starting to dry and pull. Car has been sitting unused in storage for 7 months now. Drove it Jan 21ist one block and replaced battery. I have put less than 3,500 miles on it in since purchase. Needs to be driven, some minor front air damn fiber work and repaint the hood. No rust. Solid build. I do believe that after now sitting for 7 month it may requires a tune up. Seemed fine in January, but I did not push it. It was freezing weather outside. Thanks if you have questions just call Ed, 210 789-6227. On Feb-19-11 at 09:46:31 PST, seller added the following information: ***NO reserve bidding – Bid to Win*Attention! Youtube 930 video is now loaded * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QgDcd_bzZw * the quality is real bad even though I loaded very high resolution - sorry. Yortube says since it was just loaded that as the day progresses the sound and quality will improve - If Not, I will download video again later. Remember this car is mad - almost at Stock car idle and rev. Use audio head phones to get a more realistic sound. When you drive it - the sound is kind of left behind and at 60mph its comfortable. With window closed its fine, but when you are in a tunnel or city (buildings), or neighborhood and the sound bounced off of buildings - holy maloney. I do have a single tube type muffler custom made for car, but like most bozo's I like shaking up the neighborhood - I decompress. My wife scolded me for not fixing the paint on front hood before selling. She is a real looker SOooooo I sometimes listen to her.... another change - highest bidder will automatically receive a refund to paint front hood and renew front spoiler so its like new - that way your wife want talk chit either. I will pay for the paint/ fix deal. Wont cost more than a couple of hundred - so I will throw in a grand if need be. Oh - less God is listening. If you think he car requires a tune up- I will pay for one as well, BUT it has to be from a top notch shop. This should all help offset your shipping or drive back home. Thanks and sorry for so many updates. Ed 210 789-6227.
