1968 Mini MK2 Minitec Honda conversion project. My financial situation forces me to give up on this project so I can complete another mini project. I'm selling for less than the cost conversion parts and engine only. Included in sale is titled 1968 MK2 deseamed shell, fiberglass front end, Minitec MTB Honda motor conversion front subframe, a factory fresh, new, never run honda B18C5 type "R" engine with type "R" new 5speed LSD Transmission. I bought this engine new from dealer with the intention of using it to do a Minitec engine swap on my 1968 Austin mini, but the economy hit and now I have to give up on the project. Engine is factory fresh and comes with a new flywheel and clutch, intake manifold(used), a USDM type R ECU, fuel rail, and a new main pulley . No wiring harness, distributer or injectors. Used engines that no one can tell you how they were treated or even actual mileage go for $3500 to $4000.00. I have all the paper work from the dealer and invoices. The Type R features an advanced 1.8-liter, 195-horsepower, dual overhead cam, 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine equipped with the Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system pioneered in the Acura NSX.IThe engine also features Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI), a highly rigid crankshaft with eight full balance weights, a crankshaft reinforcing bridge, an oil cooling system and oil jet piston cooling, twin-spring intake and exhaust valves, a highly rigid integrated aluminum die-cast engine stiffener, and a number of other technologies to increase performance while maintaining reliability and durability, along with smooth operation.To get the most out of the engine's added horsepower, the Type R also features a close-ratio, 5-speed manual transmission and a new limited slip differential. The development emphasis was placed on dramatically increasing performance at high rpm. .Putting out 195 horsepower at 8000 rpm, and 130 lbs-ft of torque at 7300 rpm, the Type R engine was the most powerful normally aspirated mass-produced automobile engine per liter ever produced (108 horsepower per liter) for the United States from 1997 to 1998. And its relatively long stroke and high redline give it the highest piston speed of any automobile engine in the world, even faster than the legendary World Championship Honda Formula One and IndyCar engines. All the glass is good and all the parts are there doors, bumpers, lights and all. The front subframe and engine were sold off and rear subframe is hydrostatic, which can be converted. Rear seat and headliner frame are there, but front seats were out of a honda and fouled the doors so I tossed them. I have included the picture of a dent, the bottom part of quarter panel was dented in about a 1/4"and is 10" wide and was covered with bondo and can easily be pounded out. I also included pictures of the new "A" panels and corner sill repair panels I have. Sale also comes with many used and NOS mini parts, plus a running 850cc motor and the original front clip if wanted. If your considering a mini honda conversion this is your opportunity to start your project at a fraction of the cost! I am basically selling the conversion parts at a discount and throwing in a California titled rust free straight donor shell in for free. Local pick up or buyer must arrange shipping.
