I have owned this car for over 35 years. The engine was last rebuilt on 11/21/79, I still have the receipt. At this point the brakes, clutch, speedometer, and tachometer do not work. I am not a mechanic and do not know what it would take to get them working. The engine however appears to be running strong. I periodically run the engine. The battery is relatively new. The SU carbs were replaced with a less troublesome Weber carb. It won't take much to get this car back on the road again. I have neither the talent or the desire to do it. I think at my starting price this vehicle is a steal. On Feb-14-11 at 22:07:30 PST, seller added the following information: The actual VIN # is GHD4U149506G. Sorry guys, I was looking at the wrong registration form when I filled out the E-Bay thing. E-Bay won't let me revise the listing to the correct VIN #On Feb-17-11 at 15:58:22 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE: I went to fire up the mgb today. It wouldn't start. I put starter fluid into the carb and it fired up until the starter fluid was used up. I can hear the fuel pump clicking. The problem might just be a dirty fuel filter. I will try to get it running Saturday. I just wanted to be upfront on all the current details that might influence your bids. I will be contacting the current bidders. Thank you for your patience.
