For sale is a 1969 AMC AMX. This car was originally a 390 with go package in Bittersweet Orange and saddle leather interior with black/white trim. The current engine is a 401 replacement block (thicker walls desired by racers) and the sought after dog leg heads. There is a Holley double pumper with Torker intake, erson and comp cams rockers, new hedman hedders, flowmaster exhaust, electric fuel pump, MSD 6AL electronic ignition. I don’t have any knowledge of the engine internals, but there is definitely an aftermarket cam and likely other upgrades judging from the sound. The transmission is a manual Borg Warner T-10 with short shifter. There is a good deal of blow-by so the engine needs a rebuild, but I drove it to work off and on without issue and it still has plenty of power. The title is clear and registration current. The car sat for some time so I installed a new alternator, timing chain, distributer gear, cam gear, door pins, electric fan, belts, and some hoses that needed replacement. I also rebuilt and resurfaced the oil pump. The rear end is the original posi and the wheels are from a cordoba (lightweight aluminum wheels). There is repair work needed in the drivers quarter panel and the metal between the rear window and trunk lid will need replacement (easy to find on ebay...same as javelin), or just use bondo for a easy job. The nose of the hood has some fiberglass repair, but the rest of the car is solid. A previous owner installed the functional hood scoop. The "big bad orange" paint is in ok condition, but there is one large chip on the trunk lid that you can see in the pictures. There are traction bars out back that hold the rear shocks. The glass is in good shape, but there are some scratches on the rear window. Some trim is missing or damaged, but most of it is there. The car needs interior work, but the original 140 mph speedo and 8,000 rpm tach work. The handle to open the drivers door from the inside needs repair (can also find on ebay). The door panels and head liner are Pierre Cardin from a Javelin. The power steering is borrowed from another car and has a slow leak, but will be included if needed. The auction will not included the shift light. I tried to included all known issues...the car is sold as is. I have recently revised the auction to add more information and pictures.
