Vehicle Detail
My beloved 1993 HILUX SURF 3.0L 1kz-te has got to go. I hate to sell but it just won’t work for my business. I need a truck so it’s gotta go. The 4RUNNER started as a fully loaded excellent condition 1993 with all options including the hard to find factory sunroof and power windows. Interior overall is pretty good although some stains on carpet. Odometer reads 276k as it was retained at the time of swap. New HD springs/bushings, breaks, wheel bearings- all the stuff that wears with age has been recently changed out. A low milage (40k) 3.0 liter turbo 1kz-te with 5 speed from 1993 HILUX SURF went in. The engine has about 60k on it now. Super clean swap done by a pro. Plenty of power not like the 2.4. New high performance aluminum radiator. Two new batteries (3 months) Tires have less than 200 miles. BFG all terrain radials. Grand Cherokee roof rails w/Yakama mounts (super clean, longer than factory and great for boats) 3” heavy wall exaust system. Incredible low and mid-range torque. At 65 MPH it runs 3000RPM and very happy. Fantastic fuel economy 29-30 with kayak on top and ice chest full. 200 miles on new clutch and Toyota one piece flywheel (very expensive) in and out transfer case from 1991 (simple, trick and very expensive no parts to break) Manuel locking hubs. I installed all new JBL speakers (6) in factory locations as well as a good pioneer (spent $600) but it quit one day (loose connection?) and I dare not mess with the plastic to get at it. Right rear passenger window does not work although the motor runs. Toyota brush guard and Warn 8000lb winch with long cable and remote control. Works great. I installed a super high quality engine heater for the frosty mornings. At one time in it’s life it had fender flares and the holes are still there as well as taillight armor that appears to have left shallow dents on both sides. Left rear passenger door has had some amature body work done on the top edge. Small dent in front bumper and small dent on left rear quarter panel. Check engine light flickers from time to time never pulled the code off as it runs perfect. No air conditioning compressor but it did come with one and the condenser is still in. Easy fit from the wrecker. A set of 33” tires and wheels also go with her not very good tread. Also a Honda Passport airbox I never got around to putting in. I will pass along a custom piece for installing an intercooler, a great idea on these rigs. CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE ! FUEL TYPE “D” With this title you can register it in any state and in Cali never deal with smog. The only 4wheeling it’s seen was on a muddy driveway as I am an old guy. I have invested quite a lot of money in this vehicle and hate to give it up but it just doesn’t work for my business.
