Vehicle Detail

Custom built 1941 Ford Pickup. I want to say right up front, this truck needs a new paint job. The paint has some blistering and cracking here and there and a few runs and just overall needs to be redone. When I got to the point in the build that it was ready for paint winter was coming on and I needed to get paint on it so I painted it myself intending to get a professional job done on it later. I did a better job than I expected to and never got around to having it redone. This truck would sell for a much higher price with a better paint job. I would describe the paint as it is now as just fine for a driver. Everything else about the truck is pretty much show quality and the truck really deserves to have a better paint job. The truck came from Oklahoma and had almost no rust on it. I took it down to the frame, sandblasted everything and did extensive corrosion prevention work before putting it back together. It has parallel leaf suspension in the rear with a 279 GM 10 bolt rear-end. For the front suspension it has a dropped tube straight axle with 4-links. It has its original steering box and column that work quite well. It drives good. It has drum brakes in the rear and mid '80's F-150 front spindles and disc brakes on front. It does have a power booster on the brakes and they work really well. The engine is a 1966 327 Chevy. It has 194 double hump heads, a forged crankshaft, flat top pistons, a nice sounding camshaft, aluminum intake, Edelbrock carburetor, roller rockers, stainless steel shorty headers, a really good engine. It was freshly rebuilt for this truck. The truck now has about 4000 miles on it since being restored/rebuilt. The transmission is a 350 turbo. For the interior it has GM leather seats. The driver's seat is power. I put a new black interior panel kit from Dennis Carpenter in it. The instruments are Classic Instruments and all work great. It has a Grant steering wheel. The original column manual shifter has been converted to work with the automatic transmission. It has a really nice sounding stereo in it. It has a heat and A/C system from Southern Rods. The wheels are reproduction Halibrands. The bed is Maple with polished stainless strips. It has a custom fabricated rear roll pan with '39 Ford taillights. The tail gate latch is a one of a kind item. I couldn't find what I wanted anywhere so I made my own. It operates two stainless steel rods that run through the upper rail in the tail gate and latch into the bed sides. The tailgate straps are polished stainless. The tail gate hinges are polished stainless. The grill is a very unique item on this truck. I made it myself. It is all one piece and is polished stainless steel. It is made to look a lot like the original '41 Ford grill, but you can't buy one like it anywhere. It is very good quality and will last forever. I could go on and on about this truck. suffice to say there is much more to say. I'm selling it because I have finished it, driven it a few years, and enjoyed it. I have begun another project (a '32 Ford three window coupe) and am close to finishing it but I am stalled out for lack of funds. That is the real reason I'm selling this truck. I also want to say that it does have some flaws like the paint and it has a minor transmission fluid leak where the dip stick goes in. Also, there is a freon leak in it somewhere. Everything in the heat and air system is less than a year old. I installed it myself and probably it has a leak in a fitting somewhere. I don't think it would be difficult nor expensive to fix. When it has freon in it the A/C works great as does the heater. The truck has a clear TN title in my name.
