Well... HERE IT IS!! The ONE you've ALL been LOOKING for! And, YES, it's in California, so it's 99% RUST FREE! This 1986 Ford Ranger PROJECT is just right for a PRE-RUNNER, an every-day driver, or a work truck! It has the 2.9 V-6 Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), always starts and runs perfect, no smoke or misses, and SHOULD get 25-28 MPG! (I'm guessing, or should I say, HOPEING it's been re-built or replaced)! Odometer shows 18K. CAR CHECH says 218K (it's a lie! I refuse to believe it)! It has the 5 SPEED OVERDRIVE trans, (yea,the $600 one, USED)! The clutch isn't dis-enguaging, due to a faulty slave cyl, INSIDE the bell housing! (see driveway). Does Ford REALLY have better ideas?! (if your still reading this, you should know what that means)! In short- new clutch-pack-100 bucks. New slave-50. And, oh yea, labor! I don't want to talk about it, I'm OLD and it's COLD! BUT! I have driven this truck WITHOUT the clutch, so I know the 4x4, high and low, and the trans are working! It has Manual locking hubs. It has power steering, (why), which is the ONLY creature comfort, besides a heater, (that makes sence), which is nice for "DIYers"! It has a BRAND NEW front Windshield! It has the swing-away stainless mirrors! It has a sliding rear window! It DOES come with a fiberglass STOCKLAND shell, with a boot to boot! It has 5 stock rims with 5 good tires, all matching!! (except the spare), with 60% tread, and a jack! (Yur gonna need it)! It has a bench seat that needs "minor" repair, (thought you'd like that), but it's CLEAN! All the belts are all there, AND bolted in! (one is just tied in a knott). It has the Original PAINT, with a blue stripe, but it is faded, with road chips, and a few little door dings, (so it needs paint)! It has a minor dent in the left front fender, (about the size of a CLINTON cigar) and a hole drilled for a CB antena. (To call for help)! (No antena, just the hole)!There is ANOTHER hole in the back of the cab for CB also! (can't get enough help)! These are actually easy-fixes! (about a day's work)!The right fender has a cracked lense, (out of stock), with a small dent there, (the size of a cigarette) and another in back of the front wheel. (I've drawn a line with a marker). Both sides are missing the v-6 insigina.(impossible to find)! The right door has been replaced (with a different color)! The tail gate has been replaced (different color yet)! Also, there is some sheet metal damage in the bed, (probably from a PERMINATE tool box) on the passengers side, above the wheel well. Besides the door and tail gate, all other body pannels are SUPER STRAIGHT and ORIGINAL with NO BONDO! (how can be)? I like to EXPOSE any and all body damage, as you can see, (where I hit it with a DA), prior to any restoration, which I plan on doing, (i'm a masicist), if I can't sell (DUMP), this within a week. I have removed the stock floor mats to show the solid floors, where only a slight bit of surface rust has accumilated. (caught that just in time)! Nothing a wire-wheel wouldn't fix! If I go any futher on this project, the next time you see it the price will be WELL OVER 2K, (after investing 4) IF, I decide to sell at all!! These trucks are VERY RARE equiped such as this is. (no extra goodies to distract drivers)! IT HAS NOT been abused or wrecked, just USED! Finially,there is no radio,(probably couldn't hear it anyway), but It does have the factory stereo speakers in the dash, as well as aftermarket speakers in the door pannels.(they don't match anyway). The dash has ONE crack about 2" long, in the dip. not noticiable (unless you look). All the guages are nice, and working, along with all the lights, Including the interior cab light! (must be a short). The engine compartment is CLEAN and UN-MOLESTED! (i wonder if anybody ever opened the hood)? I have the original owners manual, warranty booklet, operating guide, (all worn out)! and CA. PINK SLIP (title, not a ticket)! It was last registered in '07, passed CALIF smog, (amazing), non-opped for '08, and now requires around 175 bucks to register in CA. including 2011 DMV fees. (if it will pass smog)! It should! I can arrange to deliver this ANYWHERE on a trailer, (naturally) or arrange your own shipping! (hate to see it go)! (see Chev 4x dually, it gets 9)! I've shipped cars from here to MN. for less than a grand! (that was a SUMMER rate, this week-10K)! I've started the bidding at a little less than what I have into it, (in U.S. dollars)! I just have too many projects, and I'm just too old at 60 to take them all on! (see SUK in garage)! DON"T BID IF YOU CAN'T PAY! (I understand, BK looms). YOUR BID IS A LEGAL AND BINDING CONTRACT! A local automotive shop quoted me 6 hrs, but that's on a rack, with air tools. I would "creep'n", in the driveway! I would have to do this work from a creeper! I'm willing to do this work for cheap, maybe HALF PRICE, so that the winning bidder could DRIVE IT HOME! Yes, i'm "mechanically inclined"! I'm thinking, that the trans doesn't even have to come out! I think I could just SLIDE IT BACK, in order to reach-up in there, and replace the SLAVE? The clutch WAS WORKING, until the Slave started to leak. Have any of you done that?On Feb-09-11 at 01:41:54 PST, seller added the following information: I MAY have made a mis-calculation on the MILEAGE, because at the END of '05, the PASSED EMMISSIONS INSPECTION REPORT that i JUST NOW FOUND, says 91,552! . It it was non-opped at the end of '07. Could someone have put 100k on it during that time, (2yrs) in a small town mountain community? MOST LIKELY NOT! Personally, I'm leaning towards 118K as evidenced by this NEW INFORMATION, and the overall condition, which is pretty good. The person I bought from said it had been "Just used arouund town, until the clutch quit working". It had been sitting for awile.
