Vehicle Detail

Selling a 1972 Jeep J-2000 4wd pickup (aka Jeep Gladiator, but they stopped calling it that in `71). I just got this truck to use for parts, but it just runs too damn good to pull apart and would rather see a Jeep fanatic do something with it. It is the J-20/J-2000 model so it has the D60 rear axle and D44 front axle. Has the factory 304 V8 and 4spd manual transmission and only has 97k original miles. This truck runs awesome. Just tap the key and it fires right up and runs perfectly. It has been used as a plow and work truck for many years, so it is a little rough. Not too terrible for a 40 year old work truck though. As you can see in the pics, the bed has some areas that are rusted through along with some dents. Tailgate is pretty rough too. Hood is very solid with oly a little surface rust on the underside. Grill is nice. Cab is somewhat solid with mostly surface rust and some pinholes in the floors. Rocker panels are totally shot and need to be replaced Fenders are savable, inners need some work but are savable. All glass is good. Frame seems solid with some surface scaling in spots, but I didn't see any thin areas or holes anywhere. Would make an excellent farm truck, restore it, or just use it for wheelin. Truck was being used until just recently for plowing, but the pump failed and the owner bought a newer truck to replace it instead of fixing it. Plow frame and hoop are there, but no blade or pump are included. DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU PLAN TO BUY!! You're not bidding on an opportunity to come see it. You bid, you own it. Not playing games with tire kickers. You are more than welcome to come check it out in person prior to bidding, in fact, I encourage it. Feel free to email me at Bugzturbo@aol.com with any questions. I am looking for a 4 wheeler, so may be willing to work a deal on something (must be 350cc or larger). Have a clear PA title in hand that MUST be transferred to new owner before the truck leaves. There is a notary close by where we can do the paperwork. PA buyers MUST transfer the title into their name, registration is up to you. Out of state buyers will have the title reassigned so they may transfer it in their home state, or transit plates issued if you plan on driving it home. I have only driven this truck short distances myself and it drives fine. Not sure how it will hold up on a long distance drive, it's your call whether or not you want to drive it home or tow it. Thanks. On Feb-05-11 at 16:24:07 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE----UPDATE----UPDATE Ok, some minor mistakes that need to be dealt with here. I'm a Ford guy myself, and don't know alot about these old Jeeps, so I got the specs from a Jeep site online, and apparently, it was wrong. I was under the assumption that the J2000 had the heavier axles, but it does not. It actually has a D44 rear axle and D30 front axle with 5-lug wheels, not the D60/D44 combination listed previously. Also, the transmission is a 3-speed, not a 4-speed. That was just a misprint in the original listing, guess I was typing too fast. Otherwise, the rest of the description is accurate. Sorry if this has caused anyone an inconvenience. Thanks
