Vehicle Detail

It's that piss yellow coupe that's the fastest thing in the valley! OK, you know it isn't and I know it isn't but unless he or she's a Milner or Graffiti buff the rest don't know. From the number of pictures taken with this car and the gasps at the Hot Rod Reunion in October in Bakersfield, I can assure you they don't know. I got it originally to do as a Milner clone (even though it is a '30 and not a '32). Someone had nicely removed the visor, which created the proper illusion. I had the Man-a-fre for years for just this purpose. Unfortunately, the man-a-fre and the ZZ3 motor did not like each other at all. It was 3 days drive and 4 days tune. So I used an older sbc tri-power set up and it is as smooth as a baby's...well you know. Still have the man-a-fre for an extra $1500. Look at the pictures they tell the tale. (I have included a picture showing the Man-a-fre and one with me as "John" himself). The motor has probably 40K on it and runs very well. As I said drove from Vegas to Bakersfield last year without a hitch. 350/350; Dana rear end (Milner had a 55 chevy) that cruises 70 at about 2800; Sanderson headers with dumps (Milner didn't have dumps); 40 Ford front brakes with two single masters and a booster; not sure of the rears. Four bar out front with hair pins in the rear and coil overs. Glass rear fenders steel fronts shorter than his to clear the headers. Inside is just like Milner's right down to the pocket for the tickets and the Hurst with the piston shift knob (Milner's was a stick). '32 dash with all Moon gauges with the Tach on top rather than in the dash like his (In my day they had to be on top). 14 gallon tank in the rear with battery in the rear and shut off switch below the "correct" taillights. New aluminum radiator and flokooler water pump. Boxed model A frame with tabs out front for the tow to the drag strip (just like his tabs). Top has correct chop. A totally fun and reliable ride. Even comes with the "correct" replica plate out front.
