Vehicle Detail
1960 Triumph TR3A - Excellent fun reliable driver with working overdrive. Only a few thousand miles on engine and transmission/clutch rebuild. I owned this car for about 20 years and it has been unchanged for the entire time I had it. I’ve only had to perform basic maintenance on it. I used to drive it to work regularly, but for the past several years it's been stored in my heated garage with no fuel in it. I put it back on the road in the fall and drove it about 30 miles on it since. I would trust this car for any drive. This car handles great and is fantastic in corners. The steering and suspension are excellent and tight. It has the optional overdrive, front sway bar, and Smiths heater. Brakes and clutch are excellent. Engine sounds quiet and tight. All lights and signals work right. Transmission and overdrive are smooth and quiet. Parking brake works. The only functional problem that I know of is that the wipers don’t park and you have to turn off the switch at the right time. The exhaust is louder than standard and I recommend replacing muffler with a TR3 part from Moss. I believe this car is all original equipment except for a Moss 2.2-liter big bore kit, 4 into 2 header, muffler, air filters, and the TR6 wheels and tires. Seat belts are from a TR6. I replaced the speedo with an original NOS part years ago. Now shows 635 miles, but original odometer was broken when bought the car. None of the usual cheap aftermarket parts were installed and it still has the correct push button starter, original oil filter canister, priming lever fuel pump with glass bowl, fuel petcock, lever rear shocks, water pump with grease nipple, Lucas generator, overdrive switch, gauges, etc. Includes original side curtains with sliding windows. All gauges are awesome and still have the original domed glass lenses. There is no rust that I can find anywhere. Good rust free floors, trunk, spare compartment, wheel wells, battery tray, etc. The fenders still bolted on clean and rust free. Frame is clean and straight. The paint could really use polishing to flatten it out better but is in great shape with no bubbling, cracking or rust. The floor looks like somebody ripped out the carpet and left a bunch of carpet glue behind. There are large rubber Triumph floor mats that cover the whole front floor panels. There is no carpet and the seats need restoration. The interior panels and dash look great. Tires are like new. Top and windows are excellent. License plates shown in photos not included. The old Triumphs are fun to work on and you can buy just about any part new from Moss Motors and others. http://www.mossmotors.com/ This car has a clean clear WA title. Please send your questions early and I’ll do my best to answer. TERMS: A deposit of $500.00 through PayPal within 24 hours of auction end is required.
