Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1988 Honda NT 650 Hawk GT. Gauges show 25,xxx miles, but the motor has been replaced from a salvaged bike. Motor has approx. 16,000 miles on it. After-market goodies ON the bike include full M4 Stainless competition exhaust system w/ headers, carburetors with stage 1 jet kit and UNI pod filters, CB1 clip-ons, FOX twin-clicker rear shock set for 170 lb. rider, Race-Tech Gold Valve emulators up front, Napolean mirrors, billet aluminum short-stalk 3-way blinkers front and rear - running lights work in addition to signals (these are very difficult to find). NEW Gray metallic paint (stock color) with decals under the clear coat - looks great. Both L and R handlebar controls are new - no dried up UV-damaged plastic here. Like all Hawks, this bike handles great, but the suspension is much improved - great for track days or sporting riding. CB-1 clip-ons are more comfortable for me (I'm 6'0") than the upright bars, and much better for sport-riding. They attach above the triple clamp, so the stock cables can be used, and they are not so low they break your back. Also included are a bunch of extra parts I have collected or that have been replaced over the years: stock exhaust and headers, K&N filter, stock airbox, stock clip-ons, stock passenger pegs and brackets (removed to install M4 pipe), CBR 900 rear shock with remote reservoir. Like to go on longer rides? Included is a 5 gallon Ritter gas tank (dented from trailer incident) a shortened seat with bracket and auxiliary fuel tank. I also have the Honda service manual. The bike runs good - much faster than a stock Hawk, but runs rich - carbs need tuning for optimum performance... they are still set for sea-level. I moved to Reno and never readjusted them. I haven't ridden much recently. This bike has never been raced, and the engine is in excellent condition: regular oil-changes; well-maintained. Blemishes: seat is cracked and repaired - not bad; crank case cover is scratched. Gauges look good, but you can see where the housing and bracket were repaired. Headlight is cracked, but still solid. This bike looks and runs great. LOTS of tasty tidbits worth $$$. Registration expired in August and clean NV title. I've owned this bike since 1998. Other bikes have come and gone, but I've hung on to this one because it's so fun to ride. Handling of this bike is legendary for a reason. Why am I selling? My interests have changed with age and I have moved on to other hobbies. Serious inquiries only, please. Cash deposit required for test ride. Save me the time of removing and selling individual parts - remember that all the stock parts are also included. More photos available - email. Please contact me if you're interested in specific parts. RESERVE is set very low considering the rarity of these bikes and all the extras included. Bike is also for sale locally. BUYER must arrange crating and/or shipping. I can help with contacts and/or deliver locally.
