Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a very clean smooth running 1964 544 Volvo 2-door sedan The mileage figure of 135, 269 has been verified with the second owner, who owned it for over 30 years and had the car garaged with 2 other Volvos and did not operate the car in the winter months. His other cars were a P1800 and a 122S 2-Dr. which he raced. This car was used for vacation trips. The car has absolutely no body rust anywhere. The trunk has the original black rubber mat and gray cardboard side panels in excellent condition. The car came with the 1965 style slotted wheels, which have been powder coated and new 165 X 15 Arizonian radial tires installed by Americas Tire Company. The interior is all original. The front cardboard kick panels and the rear deck panel are discolored with age and can be easily and inexpensively replace by contacting VP Autoparts in North Charleston, S. C. The dash cover is cracked due to a tachometer having been installed and subsequently removed. This part is also available from VP Autoparts. The radio was an AM/FM Blaupunkt and the dash opening was altered to accommodate it. The car will come with another stock steel dash and an original Bendix AM Volvo radio, which has been reconditioned and a white 544 stock radio opening cover, which came on the car to the dealer. These are also very hard to find. The car has an IPD front anti-sway bar installed and the rear bar comes with the car. New rear mud flaps and a set of three matching door locks are also included. Other parts available include a brand new old stock set of Koni adjustable shocks, which are no longer being made according to the retailer in New York that I spoke with. This car is being sold since we are proceeding with restoration of a 1967 122S Wagon.
