Vehicle Detail
1981 Jeep Scrambler CJ8, 74,000 miles Appraised at $10,500 Our Jeep is in very good condition. Aside from minor repairs, belts, hoses and routine maintenance the following has been done: 2009 Repainted 2008 Replaced Master Cylinder " R&R Timing Chain & Gear Set " Replaced Exhaust (2 Tailpipes & Muffler) 2004 Replaced Rear Brakes " New Shocks 2001 Clutch rebuilt " Carburetor rebuilt " Rear Differential Rebuilt 1999 4 Big Foot Dual Groove Tires at 56,000 miles We purchased our Scrambler from the original owner and we have owned it since 1983. It is in good mechanical condition. Original body. Painted 2 years ago and sprayed on bed liner. New flares. The interior is all original except for the radio- it was replaced several years ago and doesn't work well. The original seats needed recovering and we had new upholstery professional made but not installed. Instead we purchased fitted seat covers. (The new upholstery will go to the new owner.) This Jeep has been very well maintained over the years. It has minimal surface rust on some of the engine parts. There is no rot or holes. All gauges work except the gas gauge. 258 cu in (4.2 L) in-line six Engine is strong and doesn't leak or burn any oil. 4 Speed transmission, 4 wheel drive. Fiberglass top has a few patches where it was damaged from taking it off and on. (See pictures) The only thing it needs is left fender reflector. Tires are in very good condition but spare has a leak in the sidewall. All parts are original except those replaced for repairs and those mentioned above. We thought about detailing the engine but decided that showing the 'dirt' etc., was more honest. We have had the Jeep appraised by a local, and very reputable, antique car dealer and can provide a written/signed appraisal for $10,500. There are no warranties. We have the Jeep listed in our local newspaper and we reserve the right to terminate the auction early. TERMS: $500 required via PayPal within 48 hours of bid closing.
