1998 Honda XR

1998 Honda XR400R one of the best dirt bikes ever made. These bikes are unstoppable. This one is pretty much stock but has been ridden as they should be. Just serviced at Britt's Motor sports in Wilmington NC it had a compete carb overhaul, tune up and tweak (with receipt). The tech said the thing is in perfect shape mechanically. It runs perfect. It kick starts right up, idles purring like a kitten and absolutely SCREAMS down the road/ trail!!! Usually starts on 1st or 2nd kick when temp is ok. It takes a few more kicks when its cold out. We had our coldest night of the year last night 25 and I wanted to check it and it started on the 5th or 6th kick and then idled perfect and screamed down the road perfect too. The head light works but the tail light is out (not sure why and didn't really care). The brakes, clutch and throttle etc are all good to go. The front fork gator on left is taped up cause it is ripped (pictured). The tires are good. Chain and sprockets are good. The plastics are scratched and not perfect but they get the job done. The tank was just spray painted white cause it was yellowing a bit. There are stickers on it that could easily be removed if you don't like them. Mostly Matix because my buddy is sponsored by them and I wanted to cover up the plastics a bit. If you want a legend bike for a good price that will run forever and is mechanically sound and ready to ride this one is for you. With new plastics it could be perfect I just don't care that much about the looks I actually like it as is. It also comes w the service manuel. This bike does not have a title and will come with bill of sale. You can set these bikes up for road use and get title pretty easy if you want. It is located in Carolina Beach NC and pickup or shipping costs are up to the buyer but I will assist in any way I can. Full payment and pickup within 7 days. On Dec-11-10 at 10:18:12 PST, seller added the following information: The bike has a tiny oil leak that the tech at Britts said not to worry about and will not get worse. You get a tiny drop of oil every once in a while that you just leave or wipe off. I am sorry I forgot to list this originally I was just riding the bike yesterday and remembered it. No misrepresentation intended as you can see from my feedback. I honestly forgot all about this because it is nothing to worry about and I never think of it.
