Vehicle Detail
UP for auction is a 1945 Ford GPW in very straight condition. It has been sitting for the last 4-5 years since the owner passed away. Let's list some of the crappy things first. It is the wrong color, the seats have been recovered in a ugly green vinyl, the taillights are wrong, some of the wiring has been replaced with modern wire, the gas tank needs cleaning, one tire goes flat ( but all need replacing), wrong front bumper (comes with a replacement), one hat channel rusted away, horn wrong. The engine runs fairly good but I think the carb needs cleaning. Drives and stops but should have brakes reworked. I started stripping some of the stuff that shouldn't be there such as some wiring, turn signals, horn, etc. I don't think the numbers match. I am in the process of changing title to my name. California DMV is running a little slow but it will happen. Now some of the good stuff... very straight body, fenders, floors, hood, windshield, seat frames. Comes with tire support, grab handles, trailer plug, top bows and brackets, lots of f marked parts, original data plates, new battery, 3 combat and 2 solid (early?) rims. This jeep is an excellent for either a quick two weekend project or a total (that's what I would do) restoration. Each one would be fairly easy.
